2016 Top 10 Connector Suppliers Named
Bishop & Associates just completed its biennial US customer survey, which evaluated 52 connector manufacturers.
A total of 390 of your peers answered 19 questions relating to important issues such as quality, pricing, delivery, lead times, technical support, and more to determine the top 10 connector suppliers.
The distribution of responses by job function and sales channel is shown in the following table:

Note: 46% of participants were engineers and 57% were OEMs.
The Top 10 Connector Manufacturers: Best Overall Performers
The overall performers’ rank was determined by 11 questions related to quality of products, price competitiveness, turnaround times, and more. Survey participants were asked to choose one of the following:
6 = Extremely satisfied
5 = Very satisfied
4 = Satisfied
3 = Dissatisfied
2 = Very dissatisfied
1 = Extremely dissatisfied
The following table identifies the top 10 companies that received the highest customer evaluations in overall best performance by average score, total responses, and base of operation origin.

Samtec, Kycon, and ODU placed first, second, and third, respectively, in the 2016 US Customer Survey. New to this year’s list of top 10 connector manufacturers in the overall performance group are ODU Connection Systems, Mill-Max, and ERNI Electronics.
The following table is a comparison of this year’s 10 top connector manufacturers’ overall performance ranking versus the previous four years in which the survey was conducted.
Top 10 Best Performers for the Past Five Surveys
Samtec placed first in the last four surveys and second in 2009. ODU experienced the largest increase in rank from 2014 to 2016, jumping from No. 26 to third place. ERNI Electronics entered the top 10 for the first time in 2016.
