The Top Five European Connector Suppliers for Product Quality and Price Competitiveness

Bishop & Associates’ 2023 European Customer Satisfaction Survey of the Electronic Connector Industry evaluated 17 connector manufacturers. A total of 280 customers answered 17 questions relating to important issues such as quality, pricing, delivery, lead times, technical support, and more to determine the top five European connector suppliers.

In this article Bishop examines the top five European connector suppliers receiving the highest scores for product quality and price competitiveness.

The following chart details the breakdown of survey responses by industry and job function.

Survey participants were asked to evaluate their overall satisfaction with product quality and price competitiveness.

6 = Extremely satisfied
5 = Very satisfied
4 = Satisfied
3 = Dissatisfied
2 = Very dissatisfied
1 = Extremely dissatisfied

Product Quality

The following table identifies the top five European connector suppliers that received the highest customer evaluations for product quality. The table includes their country of origin, their respective average score, and the number of evaluations received.

Samtec, ept, and Yamaichi Electronics respectively placed first, second, and third for product quality in the 2023 European Customer Satisfaction Survey. Molex and Rosenberger tied for 4^th place. Yamaichi and Molex product quality improved significantly according to their customers in this survey. Yamaichi had ranked 19^th for product quality in 2019 and Molex had ranked 19^th for product quality in the 2019.

Rank in the Past Five Surveys

Samtec is the only company that placed in the top five for product quality in each of the last five surveys. Although ept was not surveyed in 2015, the company placed in the top 5 in four of the last five surveys and has consistently kept its prices down without sacrificing quality, which has successfully led to high rankings in this survey year after year. Rosenberger’s product quality rank has remained fairly even during the last five surveys. Yamaichi and Molex both showed significant improvement in product quality ranking by their customers in the 2023 survey.

Price Competitiveness

ept, Samtec and J.S.T. respectively placed first, second, and third in the 2023 European Customer Satisfaction Survey. Two North American companies, two Japanese companies and one European country ranked in the top five for price competitiveness.

ept and Samtec have placed in the top five in four of the past five surveys. In 2023, Yamaichi experienced the highest increase in rank for price competitiveness, moving from 17^th place in 2019 to 5^th place in 2023. J.S.T. has placed in the top 10 in four of the last five surveys. Molex has placed in the top 10 in three of the last five surveys.
