binder USA expanded its series 707 portfolio with an M5 connector designed for use in exceptionally small spaces. With 360° shielding, the new connector provides reliable signal transmission in industrial environments exposed to electromagnetic interference (EMI). The shielding enables an attenuation level of 60 dB at frequencies around 1 GHz. This connector is ideal for the miniaturization required in applications such as ultrasonic sensors, metrology, instrumentation, analytic devices, cobots, and drones. binder’s M5 connector is available in 3- and 4-pin versions, with both straight and angled cable outlets. The screw-locking mechanism offers IP67-level protection against dust, water, shock, and vibration, and meets DIN EN 61076-2-105 specifications.
LEMO Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) 1000Base-T1 is designed to operate over a single twisted-pair copper cable supporting an effective data rate of 1 Gb/s in both directions simultaneously. These products were designed specifically to perform in harsh environments (such as excessive humidity, vibration, or extreme temperatures) for a variety of applications. For Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) and Shielded Twisted Pair (STP), LEMO offers two types of insulators: 0B.511 (2 contacts) and 1B.512 (4 contacts + screen). The new product is also offered in a watertight version for the T series connector.
Smiths Interconnect has extended its broad range of coaxial coupler components in UHF to Ku-Band. The comprehensive range of coaxial coupler components are designed for mission critical applications including GEO/MEO and LEO payloads, launch systems, and deep space mission management. Several products of this offering are also used in ground, airborne, and naval defense applications. Designed to provide optimal performance in assigned frequencies, Smiths Interconnect’s coaxial couplers are tested to customer specifications and are space qualified, using the company’s Qualification and Test laboratory in Dundee, Scotland. Space qualification testing routinely includes thermal shock and cycling, sine/random vibration, mechanical shock and, where appropriate, continuous waveform and peak power under TVAC, critical power, and seeded multipaction. Summary and qualification data reports are available to prospective customers.
Heilind Electronics offers the 221 Series Compact Splicing Connectors as part of its full line of WAGO connectors. The WAGO LEVER-NUTS 221 series compact splicing connector brings ease of use to a new compact form factor. At 40% smaller than its predecessor it frees up to 40% more junction box space for the end user. WAGO’s proven lever technology accepts solid, stranded, and flexible wires up to 12 AWG. The clear housing allows visual verification of proper wire insertion. As project parameters change or scale, the 221 series of compact splicing connectors is completely re-usable to meet the demands of the job. Applications include lighting, home automation, and junction boxes.
Amphenol Communications Solutions released its PCIe Gen 6 Mini Cool Edge IO GH01 Series. Co-developed with the PCI-SIG association, these high-speed and small form factor of 0.6 mm pitch connectors perform fully to Gen 6 SI performance at 85 ohm impedance. They are ideal for use in servers, as well as data center, storage, workstation, and networking equipment to power big data applications including artificial intelligence and machine learning. “Mini Cool Edge IO not only provides a SI performance-ready signal transmission but also a new way of system design that is cost-effective, highly modular, scalable, and extremely easy to repair,” said Oscar Yu, product marketing manager at Amphenol Communications Solutions. The PCIe Gen 6 Mini Cool Edge IO is a 0.60 mm pitch connector family that comes with a slim form factor design and can transmit high-speed signals up to 64G PAM4/PCIe Gen 6. Supporting both cable and card edge applications with one connector 85-ohm impedance, and various pin number options meeting PCIe/NVMe/SAS specifications, the GH01 is a high-speed connector that provides flexibility in system design to meet the modular, scalable, and easy-to-repair requirements of enterprise server solution providers.
Fairview Microwave introduced a new series of field-replaceable connectors designed for a variety of RF/microwave applications. Damaged connectors can be easily replaced without accessing sealed components. The connector’s EMI gasket protects the internal parts of devices from electromagnetic interference. These field-replaceable connectors offer frequency coverage up to 65 GHz and feature 1.85 mm, 2.4 mm, 2.92 mm, and SMA connectors. Contacts for the connectors mate with five-pin diameters ranging from 0.009″ to 0.036″. For added flexibility, the two-hole and four-hole flange type options allow for easy assembly in hard-to-reach areas. This comprehensive selection of field-replaceable connectors provides many pin types, including glass bead feed-through, a tab contact, or a pin in a dielectric.
Yamaichi Electronics introduced the test solution socket series IC561, IC564, and NP584. The test sockets, suitable for different package types, are a versatile, flexible, and universal solution. The miniaturization and integration process of state-of-the-art IC components is leading major electronics manufacturers to use many different package solutions and often no standard solution is available. To solve this problem Yamaichi Electronics has developed a new set of universal test sockets as reliable as custom ones for different package types having different dimensions, height, and pitches. The “semi-custom” universal solution is available at standard prices and is applicable to all QFN (Quad Flat Non-Leaded), SON (Small Outline Non-Leaded), BGA (Ball Grid Array), CSP (Chip Scale Package), and LGA (Land Grid Array) packages.

Indium Corporation has added SiPaste C201HF to its portfolio of pastes. This halogen-free, cleanable solder paste is specifically formulated to accommodate fine feature printing, as seen with 01005 and 008004 components. SiPaste C201HF combines superior, industry-leading non-wet open (NWO) performance with excellent stencil print transfer efficiency to satisfy the broadest range of process requirements and boost SPI yields. It leaves behind a cleanable residue, able to be removed with a commercially available semi-aqueous cleaning solution, or it can be used as a standard no-clean paste in processes where post-reflow cleaning is not applicable.
