2018 Top 10 Connector Suppliers for Overall Satisfaction with Order Lead Times and Price Competitiveness
The results are in for the 2018 Bishop & Associates US Customer Satisfaction Survey. Find out who customers ranked as the top 10 connector suppliers for order lead times and price competitiveness.

In this fourth segment of our series on the 2018 Bishop & Associates US Customer Satisfaction Survey of the Electronic Connector Industry, we reveal the top 10 connector suppliers ranked by level of customer satisfaction for order lead times and price competitiveness.
Bishop & Associates recently completed its biennial US customer survey, in which a total of 395 customers evaluated 42 connector manufacturers on a range of important issues. They answered 17 questions relating to quality, pricing, delivery, lead times, technical support, and more. Thirty-one companies received sufficient evaluations to remain in the final report.
Responses were gathered from several sales channels. The distribution of responses throughout the sales channel is shown in the following chart:

Participants included engineers (54%), purchasers (24%), and others (22%).
Survey participants were asked: What is your level of satisfaction with order lead times and what is your level of satisfaction with price competitiveness? They were asked to choose one of the following:
6 = Extremely satisfied
5 = Very satisfied
4 = Satisfied
3 = Dissatisfied
2 = Very dissatisfied
1 = Extremely dissatisfied
The following table identifies the top 10 companies ranked by average score. These manufacturers received the highest customer evaluations for best performance in customer satisfaction for order lead times. Also provided is the total number of responses.

Samtec, WAGO, and Kycon ranked first, second, and third, respectively, in 2018. AirBorn experienced the greatest improvement, up 18 places over the 2016 survey. Molex, Samtec, and Hirose received the largest number of survey responses, with Molex receiving more than 25% of the total responses in the 2018 survey for the top 10 companies.
The following table is a comparison of the rankings of this year’s 10 top connector manufacturers for customer satisfaction with standard order lead times versus the previous four years in which the survey was conducted.
Top 10 Suppliers for Order Lead Times in the Past Five Surveys
Samtec achieved first place for order lead times in all of the last five US surveys conducted. In addition to Samtec, WAGO, Kycon, and Mill-Max were all honored with top 10 ranking for the last five surveys.
The table below identifies the top 10 companies that received the highest customer evaluations for best performance in level of satisfaction with price competitiveness and total number of responses.

Kycon, Samtec, and Molex are the industry’s top achievers in the category of price competitiveness, with Kycon earning the coveted first place award, followed by Samtec in second place, and Molex in third. AirBorn, again, is the most improved with an impressive 16-place improvement over 2016, moving from 21st to fifth place.

Our first four companies, Kycon, Samtec, Molex and J.S.T, all achieved a top 10 position in the last five surveys conducted for price competitiveness.
