2018 Top 10 Connector Suppliers for On-Time Delivery and Meeting Promised Ship Dates

The results are in for the 2018 Bishop & Associates US Customer Satisfaction Survey of the Electronic Connector Industry. In this issue, we reveal the top 10 connector suppliers for on-time shipment delivery and meeting promised ship date.

Bishop & Associates recently completed completed its US customer survey. This survey, which is generally conducted biennially, evaluates connector manufacturers on a variety of topics.

A total of 395 customers participated in the 2018 survey, providing responses to 17 questions relating to important issues such as product quality, pricing, delivery, lead time, technical support, and more.

Responses were gathered from several sales channels. The distribution of responses throughout the sales channel is shown in the following chart:

Note: 54% of participants were engineers and 24% were purchasers.

Survey participants were asked: What is your level of satisfaction with the performance in meeting promised ship dates? They were asked to choose one of the following:

6 = Extremely satisfied
5 = Very satisfied
4 = Satisfied
3 = Dissatisfied
2 = Very dissatisfied
1 = Extremely dissatisfied

The following table identifies the top 10 connector suppliers ranked by average score. These manufacturers received the highest customer evaluations for best performance in on-time delivery. Also provided is the total number of responses.

2018 Top 10 US Survey for On Time Delivery

Samtec, Kycon, and WAGO placed first, second, and third, respectively, in the 2018 US Customer Survey. The Bel Group of companies was the most improved this year trending upward from 25^th in 2016 to 10th place this year. Molex received the most evaluations, followed by Samtec, and Hirose Electric respectively.

The following table is a comparison of the rankings of this year’s 10 top connector manufacturers for on-time delivery versus the previous four years in which the survey was conducted.

2018 Top 10 US Survey for On Time Delivery History

Samtec achieved first place for on-time delivery in all of the last five US surveys conducted. In addition to Samtec, Kycon, Mill-Max, and 3M Electronics were all members of the top 10 club for the last five surveys. The table below identifies the top 10 companies receiving the highest customer evaluations for best performance in meeting promised ship dates and total number of responses.

Once again, Samtec, Kycon, and WAGO placed first, second, and third, respectively, for meeting promised shop dates. New to this year’s list is FIT.

Samtec and Kycon placed first and second in the last five US surveys conducted. Hirose experienced the largest increase in rank from 2016 to 2018, jumping from No. 17 to sixth place and entering the top 10 for the first time. Also, FIT entered the top 10 for the first time in 2018.
