Power connectors
Axon’ flat flexible cables are designed for board-to-board connections in electronic systems. From 0.30 mm to 1.25 mm pitch, these flat flexible cables provide a space saving solution for PCB connection. They are compatible with ZIF/LIF connectors with or without a mechanical locking system. They are also compatible with hot bar connection or reflow soldering. Different types of stripping and reinforcement tapes including removable connection (connector/connector), solder connection (solder/solder), or mixed connection (solder/connector) are available. Axon’s product range includes long shielded flat cables with 0.50 mm pitch and a total length up to three meters. This is a cost-effective and space-saving solution compared to a regular round-wire harness and is ideal when electromagnetic protection is needed. Axon’ also manufactures very short FFCs with a total length between 10 mm to 42 mm and a total width from 5 mm to 32.5 mm compatible with pitches 0.50 mm, 1.00 mm, and 1.25 mm pitches. They are designed for applications requiring fast integration and a locking shape to improve retention force of the connector where vibrations are an issue.
Amphenol’s Flat Flexible Cable (FFC) jumpers are available in many standard cable lengths to meet the wide range of flexible interconnect requirements between two PC boards. They are available in 1.00 mm pitch (FF5026) and 0.50 mm pitch (FF3025). Type S (same-side) and Type O (opposite-side) contact layouts allow for mirrored contacts in top- and bottom-mount. They have a wide operating temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C. These FFC jumpers are ideal for automotive, data, industrial, and medical applications.
Amphenol LTW’s FFC (Flexible Flat Cable) and FPC (Flexible Printed Circuit) solutions prioritize flexibility and space-saving for various electronic interconnection needs. The ZConnect Low-Profile LV214-compliant connectors provide secure mating with a second lock design, saving space with a maximum mated height of 8 mm. These robust connectors meet automotive LV214 requirements, offering 8 to 40 contacts at 1A up to 120VDC and pitches of 0.9 mm, 1.8 mm, and 2.7 mm. ZConnect delivers anti-vibration and audible feedback, along with multiple contacts, ensuring cost-effective and reliable solutions.
Powell supplies Nicomatic’s flat flexible cable consisting of tin-plated copper conductors laminated between polyester films with a thermal adhesive for durability. With pitch density down to 0.50 mm and capable of millions of cycles in high flexing environments, FFC cables are used in a wide variety of electronic applications for board-to-board interconnections. The cables can be directly soldered or used with ZIF or LIF type connectors.

I-PEX FFC/FPC connectors include two product families: EVAFLEX connectors have an auto-locking feature that can mate the FFC/FPC with one action, making them operator friendly and more robust and durable than traditional FFC/FPC connectors. They feature high-speed transmission and offer options for 360° ZenShield EMI shielding and the ability to withstand temperatures up to 125 °C. I-PEX MINIFLEX connectors, commonly referred to as ZIFs or LIFs, offer a variety of pin counts and pitch ranges, from 0.5 mm down to 0.175 mm. Connector heights range from a robust 2.5 mm down to just 0.5 mm. They offer an additional mechanical lock option with FPC cut-out feature, making them ideal for applications that require higher FPC retention force. The connectors will function reliably even after accidental actuator closure without an FPC inserted.
Nicomatic’s lightweight and highly customizable impedance controlled flat flexible cable (Z-FFC) is the perfect solution for keeping clean and consistent signal transmission at high-frequency applications in an alternating current (AC) circuit through minimizing insertion loss, return loss, and negating crosstalk. By applying impedance control film during our in-house manufacturing, Z-FFC can be created to fit your high-speed application needs. By electing the double-sided application option, greater shielding effectiveness, and opportunities to ground conductors are available in addition to the impedance control properties, without any compromise to performance.
The 6293 Series from KYOCERA AVX are low-profile, space-saving FPC connectors which feature a pitch of 0.3 mm, height of 0.9 mm, and width of 3.55 mm* for mounting areas. (*Width in actuator closed state: 3.9 mm.) These products are dual-sided contact, LIF, right angle, SMT type connectors, suitable for consumer devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs, wearable devices, laptops, audio equipment, and game machines.
