This week’s Product Roundup highlights rectangular MIL-spec connectors from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
Rectangular MIL-Spec connectors
Amphenol’s HDB3 rectangular connectors from Avnet incorporate a higher density contact pattern and lower mated height than Amphenol’s standard low mating force rectangular connectors, making them ideal for military applications. They utilize the same durable and reliable B3 brush contact in a tighter .070” X .060” staggered grid pattern. Available as a daughterboard and motherboard connector for both HDB3 and HSB3, as well as in I/O connector and board stacking connector configurations for HDB3.
Nicomatic’s DMM connectors comply with MIL-DTL-83513G. They allow space-saving, electromagnetic and mechanical protection and have a 2 mm pitch. One-piece or two-piece backshells provide 360° shielding. They can be equipped with contacts for signal (LF), power (HP), and coax (HF). Available in board-to-board, board-to-wire, wire-to-wire, and panel mount configurations.
CDM now provides the full range of Positronic military-spec GM and GMCT series rectangular rack & panel connectors. Positronic rack & panel rectangular connectors are available in configurations from 7 through 104 contacts, with current ratings up to 13 Amps. Both series are qualified to UL #49351, MIL-DTL-28748, and SAE AS29029. All connectors are rated at up to 1,000 mating cycles.
Smiths Interconnect’s filtered rack & panel connectors include ARINC 404, ARINC 600, and MIL-DTL-83527 shell styles. EMI filtering at box interface level offers maximum system protection. They are intermateable and interchangeable with standard non-filter connectors and meet or exceed all applicable requirements of military specifications. Several different contact arrangements and shell sizes are offered. C, L, Pi filter types filtering technology (planar arrays, discoidal) are available to suit the application.
AirBorn’s field-proven R-Series rectangular interconnects (.075″/1.905 mm pitch) have been performing consistently in mission-critical applications for over 30 years. The R-Series offers the largest array of termination, configuration, and mounting and hardware options available on the market. R-Series connectors are MIL-DTL-55302 qualified and are a trusted component in countless military and defense applications. The R-Series offers 2, 3, 4, and 6 row options (10-604 contacts) and has the complete spectrum of termination options available.
Gladiator from Amphenol Pcd is a small, lightweight, flat connector designed for soldier-worn applications like data sharing, battery charging, and peripheral connectivity. Plugs and receptacles fit through MOLLE pack straps. Receptacles are designed for panel mounting, clipped into MOLLE, or sewn into place. Magnetic mating orients and aligns connectors for fast, no-look mating. Factory adjustable engage/disengage forces meet customer specific requirements. Spring pins (spring probes) maintain contact through shock and vibration. The fluorosilicone gasket interfacial seal seals individual contacts and the plug-to-receptacle. Gladiator may be supplied cabled (flat or round) or self-terminated. Power and ground pogo pins are designed for 5A continuous current. Gladiator supports USB2.0 Data, with 90 Ω impedance. First mate, last break, pogo contact is available for ground contacts.
