Emerson SE600 Series Expanded Beam Connector

Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions’ SE600 Series Expanded Beam connector is ideal for harsh environment applications such as oil and gas exploration and production.

Emerson-Stratos-Fiber-Optic-052014Emerson Network Power launched the SE600 Series Expanded Beam (EB) connector for systems in oil and gas exploration and production environments, both offshore and onshore.

The Nickel Aluminum Bronze (NAB) or stainless steel construction provides the durability required in environments where exposure to salt water, oil, natural gas, and a variety of harsh chemicals is a given. The single optical window, without an alignment pin and receiving hole, enables a single pass cleaning process in or out of the field.

There is very little distance from the single optical window to the annular mating surface on the optical insert. This condition significantly reduces the amount of moisture, as well as chemical and particulate contamination, which can be trapped between two mated connectors. The over-molded grip provides a textured, fixed surface for ease of handling.

“With the introduction of the Stratos SE600 series, we are pleased to now offer one of the broadest lines of expanded beam connectors in the fiber optic industry,” said Matt Meares, market segment director of Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions. “Our S960, S900, and Hermaphroditic Multi Application (HMA) connectors have a proven track record in harsh environment applications where reliable and robust fiber optic connectivity is required. The new Stratos SE600 series is the latest in our EB connector product line that continues to deliver extraordinary performance and value for our customers in the oil and gas industry.”
