Between-Series Adapters Product Roundup
This week’s Product Roundup highlights between-series adapters from leading suppliers.
Between-Series Adapters
Ironwood Electronics offers solder column adapters as a solution for leaded SMT packages such as QFP, PLCC, SOIC, SSOP, and TSOP. This is well suited for a PC board in production that needs an upgrade or for replacing an obsolete part. The solder column adapter provides a fast, highly reliable connection at a fraction of the cost of competing designs. This makes it an excellent choice for prototype or production quantities. The solder column adapter efficiently adapts one footprint to another footprint in a low-profile, compact design. The solder column adapter mounts directly to the SMT pads with a footprint no larger than the actual target land pattern. Parts can be manufactured as RoHS or non-RoHS compliant depending on the application.
Delta QPL Mil-Spec M55339 Between-Series RF Adapters are available from CDM Electronics. These between-series adapters are used to transfer signals from one coaxial connector interface to another with minimal insertion loss or return loss (VSWR) and with maximum power-handling capability. Delta’s between-series adapters are available as inline or panel mounted for pass-through applications and are QPL’d to MIL-PRF-55339 in series BNC, N, SMA, and TNC. Adapter bodies are silver plated per QPL standard with gold captive contacts.
SV Microwave’s high speed RF Between-Series Adapters (40+ GHz) are ideal for testing applications where the utmost precision and accuracy is key. With a ruggedized construction for durability and reliability these adapters span SV Microwave’s high frequency SMPM, SMPS, 2.92 mm, 2.4 mm, and 1.85mm series.
Smiths Interconnect’s In-Line Filter Adapters, featuring Sabritec technology, provide the system designer great flexibility in situations where the filtering or system requirements are subject to change. The adapters are designed to be installed between the existing plug and receptacle without having to re-wire or disassemble the system. Both in-line cable and bulkhead/panel mount versions are available. Adapters can be built for any connector series including MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-C-26482, MIL-DTL-83723, MIL-DTL-24308, MIL-DTL-83513, ARINC 404, and ARINC 600.
Cinch Connectivity Solutions continues to expand the Johnson SMPM family with a new set of SMA to SMPM between-series adapters targeted at 5G and other high frequency test applications. The new adapters are designed to deliver high frequency performance up to 26.5 GHz, operating beyond the typical SMA 18 GHz range, with an excellent VSWR of 1.20 up to 20 GHz and 1.25 from 20 to 26.5 GHz. Johnson high frequency connectors and adapters support data signal transmission for test and measurement lab equipment, semiconductor ATE test boards, instrumentation test fixture hardware and many communication networking instrument applications.
The cleanable adapter from JAE is composed of a front shell and a rear shell. The front shell can be detached in a single operation with its lock lever. The division of shells allows the ferrule tip of the optical connector to be exposed and the end of the ferrule to be easily cleaned from outside the device.
