Indium Corporation’s expertise and proven products were featured at NSW Automation’s launch of its N4 Full-Range Solder Paste Micro-Dispenser Indium Corporation’s expertise and proven products were featured at NSW Automation’s launch of its N4 Full-Range Solder Paste Micro-Dispenser during a special event in Penang, Malaysia. Indium Corporation’s proven solder paste for jetting and microdispensing applications—Indium12.8HF—was featured in several demonstration machines at the event. Indium12.8HF is a no-clean, halogen-free solder paste optimized for long-term jetting and microdispense applications that has proven to be useful in a wide range of applications requiring precision dot diameter/line width deposits down to 80μm, consistently achievable with NSW’s equipment. Other Indium Corporation products were featured at the event, including the award-winning Durafuse LT, a low-temperature alloy technology, and its GalliTHERM portfolio of gallium-based liquid metal solutions, a new thermal interface materials (TIMs) product line that can be applied with jetting and microdispensing equipment for mass production. Additionally, Associate Director for Global Technical Service & Application Engineering Jonas Sjoberg shared his technical expertise and insight on the importance of design for excellence and collaboration.

LEMO Corporation announced that LEMO M Series High Power was recognized among the best by the 2022 LEAP AwardsLEMO Corporation announced that LEMO M Series High Power was recognized among the best by the 2022 LEAP Awards and took home the Honorable Mention in Connectivity Technology. The LEAP Awards celebrates the most innovative and forward-thinking products serving the design engineering space. This year’s winners were chosen by an independent judging panel of 14 engineering and academic professionals. “It’s an honor to be recognized for our commitment to excellence, innovation and quality in all our actions as a proven leading supplier of interconnect solutions,” said Farhad Kashani, president of LEMO Americas. The M Series High Power Connectors are compact, light, rugged, safe, and completely waterproof. These connectors are reliable interconnect solutions for robotic, automotive, military and defense, aerospace, and UAV applications.

Indium Corporation has earned a GLOBAL Technology Award from Global SMT & PackagingIndium Corporation has earned a GLOBAL Technology Award from Global SMT & Packaging for its fast wetting, no-clean cored wire with spatter control, CW-818. The award was presented at SMTA International in Minneapolis, Minnesota. “CW-818 combines superior soldering speed and spread while meeting the demanding requirements of manual and robotic soldering processes,” said Senior Product Specialist Robert McKerrow. Since 2005, the prestigious GLOBAL Technology Awards have recognized the absolute best new innovations in the printed circuit assembly and packaging industries, promoting best practices in manufacturing quality, customer service, sales growth, innovation, and employee motivation. Indium Corporation’s CW-818 is designed to meet the demanding requirements of today’s manual and robotic soldering processes. CW-818 provides fast wetting speeds, allowing users to minimize cycle times. The spatter control technology minimizes flux spattering while the heat-resistant nature of the formula reduces flux build-up on the soldering iron tip and leaves a clear, non-tacky residue post-soldering (even when using a high iron tip temperature). The combination of superior soldering performance, improved overall cleanliness, and excellent visual appearance post-soldering delivers a truly no-clean flux-cored wire. Indium Corporation’s extensive manufacturing process control ensures that CW-818 cored wire provides precisely the right amount of solder while minimizing process setup challenges and maximizing yields. CW-818 is void-free, and with consistent diameter and layer winding, prevents stoppages due to lack of flux or kinks when drawn into a robotic soldering machine. The result is an extremely reliable and strong solder joint.

ECIA’s North Star, the association’s highest leadership award, was presented to Jeff ThomsonECIA’s North Star, the association’s highest leadership award, was presented to Jeff Thomson at the recent Executive Conference. The award is so named to reflect the extraordinary leadership, guidance, and perseverance of those who are recognized. These individuals made significant contributions to our industry over the course of their careers and set the standard for those who follow. In 2016 the inaugural North Star Award recipient was long-time board member Michael Knight of TTI; John Denslinger, formerly of ECIA earned the award in 2017; Blair Haas, Bud Industries received it in 2018; and Dave Doherty of Digi-Key took home the award in 2019.
