FCI BarKlip Bus Bar Connector for Direct-Pluggable Connections

By News Release | February 17, 2014

FCI BarKlip bus bar connectors are rated at up to 170A and offer improved electrical performance and long-term reliability.

FCI Right-Angle-BarKlipThe new FCI BarKlip bus bar connectors are specifically designed for applications requiring a direct pluggable connection to an uninsulated bus bar. The right-angle BarKlip connectors generate very low energy loss, with a maximum resistance of only 0.2mOhms per connector. The BarKlip contact design features 10 fully independent cantilevered beams, which provide a true compliant spring to adjust for variations in bus-bar alignment and surface finish.

In addition, the BarKlip connectors’ low-profile design (less than 25mm installed height) enables their use in 1U rack-mounted equipment commonly used in data centers and new hyperscale computing architectures.

BarKlip bus bar connectors are designed to operate between -40°C and 125°C, increasing their end-use versatility.

“The BarKlip connector provides a convenient, low loss, and highly reliable method to connect to many of FCI’s bus bar power distribution solutions,” said Michael Blanchfield, portfolio director for power solutions at FCI. “FCI’s proprietary plating technology adds an additional benefit to customers by providing maximum conductivity and longer-term reliability without concerns about corrosion. We are confident the BarKlip products will meet many of our customers’ demands for high reliability in direct-connect bus-bar applications.”
