Environmental RJ45 Connectors
The HARTING RJ Industrial MF series supplied by Heilind is characterized by easy tool-free assembly and a robust metal housing. The highlight of the new RJ45 series is the integrated blades, which shorten the individual strands to the correct length when closing the connector — virtually a built-in side cutter. This eliminates the time-consuming work, making the assembly process more than 25% faster. The able direction can be adjusted four ways with respect to the connector before or after the assembly process. Cat 5 has four contacts and up to 100 Mbits. Cat 6a has eight contacts and up to 10 Gbits. The RJ Industrial MF series has 360° contact shielding and is compatible with 4.5 mm to 9 mm cable OD.
Phoenix Contact’s new cable connectors of the RJ45 INDUSTRIAL series enable data rates of up to 10 Gb/s in demanding industrial Ethernet applications. The robust zinc die-cast housing in a one-piece design provides high EMC protection and can be assembled in the field easily without special tools. This series offers data transmission in accordance with CAT6A. It is vibration-resistant for use in industrial environments and provides interference-free data transmission with high resistance to ESD and EMC. The one-piece design means easy handling and connection without special tools. Features include IDC fast connection. Also available as push-pull ADVANCE connectors.
RJField from Amphenol and supplied by Arrow Electronics allows the use of an Ethernet Class D / Cat. 5e connection for 10 BaseT, 100 BaseTX, or 1000 BaseT networks in harsh environments. RJField is sealed against fluids and dust (IP67) and is shock, vibration, and traction resistant. No cabling operation in field or tools are required. The patented RJStop system allows for use of a standard RJ45 cordset in a metallic plug, which will protect it from shocks, dust, and fluids. No hazardous in-field cabling and grounding.
The rugged RJ Panel Mount connector from Amphenol Communications Solutions has die cast housings and IP67 sealing for harsh environment applications protects against water and dust. RJ Panel Mount provides reliable performance in extreme conditions for the most demanding applications and mates with standard RJ plugs. Cat6A Harsh RJ45 is available in right angle and vertical configurations. Multiple mounting and termination options are available. Operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to +105 °C for extreme conditions. Meets RoHS requirements for environmental compliance.
RJFTV Series from CDM Electronics allows use of an Ethernet Class D / Cat. 5e connection for 10 BaseT, 100 BaseTx, or 1000 BaseT networks in harsh environments. With the patented RJStop system you can use a standard RJ45 cordset in a metallic plug, which will protect it from shocks, dust, and fluids, with no hazardous on-field cabling and grounding. RJFTV offers Improved EMI protection, Tri-Start thread coupling mechanism (MIL-DTL-38999 series III type) with anti-decoupling device – Shell size 19, robust metallic shells, RJ45 cordset retention in the plug: 100 N in the axis, and 500 min. mating cycles. It is compatible with cable diameter from 6 mm [0.236 in] to 13 mm [0.512 in]. For smaller diameters, please consult CDM.
Stewart Connector’s RJ45 D38999, supplied by Kensington Electronics Inc., provides Ethernet connectivity in harsh environments. Based on the rugged D38999 shell and high performance RJ45, its unique design reduces the footprint to the market’s smallest, size 17, which can be used to transmit 1G Base-T Ethernet. Features include EMI protection with shielded cable, a variety of available metals and platings, minimum of 500 mating cycles, and sealed to IP68. Four keyways are available. Stewart’s RJ45 D38999 is used for harsh environment connectivity including military communication, railway, oil and gas, and renewable energy.
JPC’s industrial waterproof M12 X-code to RJ45 Ethernet cable offers reliable CAT6A/FTP data transmission rates up to 10 Gb/s for industrial automation, and camera and vision system applications. Our waterproof sealed M12 to RJ45 series is available in male and female versions with both D and X-code as well as a plug or receptacle. Mouser supplies TE Connectivity’s ODVA Variant 1 RJ45 Harsh Environment Connectors. These connectors are designed with a rugged housing in either flame-resistant, glass-reinforced PBT or die-cast, nickel-plated zinc, providing resistance to chemicals and UV radiation. Double-bayonet locking provides IP67 resistance to the ingress of dust and water. A bulkhead receptacle mounts to either the outside or inside panel cutout for design flexibility. The ODVA Variant 1 RJ45 Harsh Environment Connectors also provide durability for various applications and allow designers to place external ports on equipment that will be installed in indoor/outdoor locations.
