Emerson’s SMPM Coax Connector for High Frequency

By News Release | March 03, 2014

Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions introduced the SMPM Coax Connector for high frequency applications where spacing is critical.

Emerson SMPM Coax Connector from Johnson lineEmerson Network Power, a business of Emerson, introduced its newest addition to the Johnson line of coax connectors, an SMPM connector ideal for applications such as radar, satellite, and high-density packaging, and for those that require higher frequencies up to 65GHz.

These subminiature connectors feature a push-on style micro interface that is 35% smaller than its SMP design. The SMPM bullet adapter provides the same blind mate functionality as the larger SMP connectors, mitigating radial and axial misalignment with negligible change to VSWR and other signal losses. Currently this product is available through Digi-Key and Mouser.

“We are pleased to now offer one of the broadest lines of SMPM connectors in the industry. With our microminiature and SMP interconnects, Emerson Connectivity has a proven track record in blind mate connectors,” said Greg Dalton, vice president of marketing, Emerson Connectivity Solutions. “The Johnson SMPM is intermateable with GPPO, and this latest product introduction continues to deliver extraordinary performance and value for our customers.”
