Hirose Electric's back flip FPC/FFC connector lineup now includes the TF07V SeriesHirose  Electric’s back flip FPC/FFC connector lineup now includes the TF07V Series. This 0.5 mm pitch version with dual contact functionality simplifies flex routing. The space-saving TF07V has a height of only 2.1 mm, making it ideal for consumer electronics, industrial robotics, and medical applications that require connectivity solutions that combine miniaturization and ruggedization. In addition to higher reliability, the top and bottom contact design offers board design flexibility and ease of assembly. The back flip design greatly increases the FPC/FFC retention in the vertical direction. Compared to front flip connectors, the TF07V Series back flip connector offers a higher retention force and exceptional protection during installation. With the back flip design, the TF07V Series is delivered with the actuator open. Mating is completed in two simple steps of FPC/FFC insertion and closing the actuator. Watch this video to see the backflip design in action.

Rosenberger North America (RNA) launched its subminiature push-on submicro (SMPS) interconnect series for 224 Gb/s/lane applicationsRosenberger North America (RNA) launched its subminiature push-on submicro (SMPS) interconnect series for 224 Gb/s/lane applications. First designed by MultiLane, the SMPS product series was developed and deployed in collaboration with Rosenberger. The strict requirements of AI network infrastructures have put pressure on semiconductor and system vendors to secure as much design flexibility as possible to meet tighter timelines and costs. The SMPS interconnect series supports a frequency range of up to 110 GHz and is extremely versatile, providing options for board-to-board, cable-to-board, or cable-to-cable connections.

DLA 04051 military specification. TCD Series conductive polymer capacitors are currently available in two case sizes (EIA 1210 and 2917)KYOCERA AVX released the new TCD Series DLA 04051 and COTS-Plus conductive polymer capacitors. These high-reliability conductive polymer capacitors are engineered for use in demanding military, aerospace, defense, and industrial applications, including power supplies and filtering circuits, and are compliant with the new DLA 04051 military specification. TCD Series conductive polymer capacitors are currently available in two case sizes (EIA 1210 and 2917) with lead-free and RoHS-compliant 100% tin terminations or tin/lead (Sn/PB) terminations. They are rated for 10–470µF ±10 or 20% tolerance, 4–50V, and operating temperatures extending from -55 °C to 125 °C. They exhibit high CV, very low ESR, very low DC leakage (0.1 CV), stable, high-frequency capacitance retention, long lifetime performance (2,000 hours at 125 °C), and a benign failure mode under recommended use conditions. They also exhibit basic reliability of 0.5% per 1,000 hours at 85 °C and reliably withstand vibration, surge voltages, rapid test solder heating (RTSH), and biased humidity testing at 85 °C and 85% relative humidity for at least 500 hours. TCD Series capacitors are subjected to statistical electrical screening and surge current screening. Two enhanced testing options per DLA 04051 are available.

PEI-GenesisPEI-Genesis supplies SMPM connectors from Amphenol RF, Cinch Connectivity Solutions, and SV Microwave supplies SMPM connectors from Amphenol RF, Cinch Connectivity Solutions, and SV Microwave. The SMPM interface is a micro-miniature connector (30% smaller than SMP connectors) that has a wide frequency range starting from DC to 65 GHz. This interface is quite popular in high frequency applications that require miniaturization. It can be found in both push-on and snap-on mating styles. Applications include antennas, broadband, wireless comms, military, instrumentation, medical, and quantum computing. Designs are available for board-to-board and cable-to-board configurations, and available in ganged edge connectors, PCB, and right angle.

AVIVA Links Inc. announced the industry’s first family of multi-gigabit asymmetrical Ethernet devices based on the Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link Ethernet (ASA-MLE) draft specificationAVIVA Links Inc. announced the industry’s first family of multi-gigabit asymmetrical Ethernet devices based on the Automotive SerDes Alliance Motion Link Ethernet (ASA-MLE) draft specification. The new products include Ethernet PHYs, switches, CSI-2 bridge ICs, and zonal aggregators, all of which are optimized for the ultra-high bandwidth asymmetric video and control links. These devices are designed as coherent components of critical infrastructure for the next generation of intelligent software defined vehicles (SDVs). The automotive industry is rapidly moving from legacy domain controller-based architecture to centralized compute architecture, accompanied by a transition from point-to-point (P2P) topologies to zonal topologies that dramatically improve the wiring harness. AVIVA’s family of asymmetrical Ethernet devices enable significant reduction in complexity, weight (several kilograms) and cost of the wiring harnesses, while delivering new features such as timestamp-based precise synchronization, ultra-low latency, low power consumption, and state-of-the-art security. These devices are now sampling to Tier 1 and OEM customers and expected to be available in production quantities during the coming year.

Weidmuller USA has developed and launched the PZ 2.5 SWeidmuller USA has developed and launched the PZ 2.5 S, the smallest professional crimping tool on the market for wire end ferrules. In control cabinet construction, cables of the most diverse cross-sections are fitted with wire end ferrules. On average, 90% of these connections are in a cross-section range of AWG 14 (2.5 mm2) and smaller. A focus on this cross-section range makes the PZ 2.5 extremely compact and ergonomic – the small handle width and the opening angle, as well as the weight, make the tool easy to use without incurring fatigue in the hand, wrist, or arm. The PZ 2.5 tool features a length of 160 mm with a small grip width so it can easily fit in the palm of the hand. At around 10 ounces, it is light and easy to carry. The trapezoidal crimp in the cross-section range of AWG 26 to AWG 14 (0.14-2.5 mm2) complies with all current standards. The practical universal die prevents incorrect insertion and ensures error-free work. The focus on small cross-sections reduces wear, doubling the service life of the PZ 2.5. Watch a video to see how it works.
