Hirose’s high-voltage wire-to-board (WTB) connector offering now includes the ZG05HV Series

Hirose’s high-voltage wire-to-board (WTB) connector offering now includes the ZG05HV Series,  a high-heat-resistant version with a space-saving design. The ZG05HV Series WTB connector supports applications up to 125 °C, making it ideal for automotive applications, including battery, converter, ECU, inverter, and on-board charging connectivity as well as in storage battery applications. The specialized housing delivers sufficient creepage and spatial distance between contacts, enabling a high-rated voltage (1,000V) and withstanding voltage (3,000V) in a compact size. With a pitch of 3.3 mm, the size 0.5mm tab-sized connector combines space-savings and high performance without compromising reliability. A 3-point contact design (one spring and two embossed contact points) combined with a double layered spring increases the contact force and prevents vibration from outside, enhancing reliability in high vibration conditions. In addition, the depth of the contacts within the housing eliminates the risk of electric shock during assembly. A mating key prevents mis-mating when using multiple connectors. Currently available in a 6-position version, a 10-position connector is under development.

This expansion requires antennas that are increasingly composed of complex signal transmission paths that need RF switching with low insertion loss and high input power, but in a compact package. The SPDT RF offers an input peak power of 46 dBm (at 8dB PAR) in a very small footprint. This means that while antenna size can be maintained, or even reduced, power output can remain consistent. Toshiba’s SPDT RF switch was designed and produced in response to the increased introductions of massive MIMO (multiple input, multiple output) technology in telecommunications base stations, which use multiple transmit and receive antennas to provide ultra-high speed and ultra-large capacity radio communications services essential for 5G. Individual antennas are also increasingly composed of super-multi-element antennas and complex signal transmission paths. Traditionally, RF switching is generally used for switching between complex transmission paths. However, the RF switch must have low insertion loss, high input power, and, due to space limitations, be small enough to keep the number of RF switches and the size of the antennas from increasing. The SPDT RF switch resolves both of those limitations.

Chemraz 541 can operate at low temperatures of 3 °F /-16 °C and maximum temperatures up to 446 °F /230 °C.
