PEI-Genesis now supplies MT38999 multi-channel connectors from Amphenol Aerospace

PEI-Genesis now supplies MT38999 multi-channel connectors from Amphenol Aerospace, offering high-density MT fiber optics in a compact, rugged MIL-DTL-38999 Series III circular connector design. Features include 12- or 24-fiber ferrules in multimode or single-mode configurations and precise alignment via three configurations (shell-to-shell with keying to allow for alternate positions, insert plug to insert receptable, and MT contact guide pins); and two shell sizes (shell size 11 with one ferrule and shell size 21 with four ferrules).

Hirose’s FPC-to-board product offering now includes the ZK1 Series connectorHirose’s FPC-to-board product offering now includes the ZK1 Series connector, a two-piece harsh environment connector that simplifies assembly while reducing the size and weight of end products. The compact ZK1 Series connector features a plug side with a terminal-less design that contributes to size and weight reduction by switching from discrete wire to FPC. FPC direct connection also simplifies the assembly process, offering time and cost savings compared to traditional discrete wire methods that involve soldering, crimping, and inserting contacts. Available in a 32-position version, the ZK1 Series connector has a 2 mm pitch and is 44.2 mm long, 19.2 mm wide, and 9.66 mm high. Commonly used in automotive applications, it withstands high heat up to 125 ℃. A robust center lock design provides a locking strength of over 100 N, ensuring vibration resistance and durability that meets stringent automotive standards. The connector maintains high contact reliability and resistance to dust intrusion due to its two-point contact design. The receptacle’s depth prevents contact with terminals, safeguarding against electric shock (equivalent to IP2X). In addition, the plug’s design shields exposed metal and patterns, reducing the risk of electric shock upon touch. The connector maintains high contact reliability and resistance to dust intrusion due to its two-point contact design.

Harwin expanded its Kontrol range of industrial board-to-board interconnects (BBi)Harwin expanded its Kontrol range of industrial board-to-board interconnects (BBi), adding single row connectors and cables to the 1.27 mm pitch (0.05″) connectors. The range bridges the gap between high-end connectors and established pin header and socket solutions. The launch adds 49 new products to Harwin’s existing dual-row Kontrol range – 21 SMT connectors and 28 double-ended cable assemblies – that include pin-count options of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12. All new SMT connectors in the series are available in vertical (male only) or horizontal (male and female) mounting options, with full shrouding and recessed contacts to prevent damage to the pins. The connectors have been polarized to prevent mis-mating, and feature a tolerance to misalignment, with a permissible linear misalignment of up to 0.075 mm and an allowable misalignment angle of 4.3o. The latched design enables tool-free mating and unmating, while surface mount tabs have been implemented to improve the retention force holding the connectors to the PCB. Location pegs have also been incorporated to assist with correct board placement and inhibit movement while soldering. The new Kontrol male and female double-ended cable assemblies include in-line connectors and UL-Specification 26 AWG ribbon cable, with 150 mm and 300 mm options available. Like the SMT connectors, full shrouding, latches, and polarization have been implemented to protect contacts and improve blind mating.
