Capable of transmitting up to 100 Mb/s and 1 Gb/s, NETBridge Automotive Ethernet Connector System from Amphenol ICC is designed for the automotive environment according to IEEE 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1 standards and offers higher data transmission rates. Developed in accordance with VDAAK LV214 and ISO 8092-2, this automotive-grade Ethernet connection system uses twisted-pair cables to transmit data and comes with a 0.50 mm x 0.40nmm tab terminal system. These USCAR-2 connectors offer design flexibility with scalable port options with 1×1 to 1×7 ports for the right angle and vertical automotive connectors and 1×1, 1×5 for inline adaptors making them a suitable choice for a wide variety of automotive designs and applications. From infotainment to ADAS and smart lighting, Amphenol has a handful of solutions that support the modern automotive industries adhering to USCAR-2 specifications and meeting LV214 severity levels.

The small, robust SMT connector for automotive telematics antenna from I-PEX has high retention force (80N minimum) and a permanent mechanical lock with tactile indication of secure contact. It is halogen free and REACH and RoHS compliant.

The AEO 10.3×38 from SCHURTER is a high-performance fuse for particularly high voltages up to 1000 VDC and currents up to 50 A. Designed for EVs, AEO fuses are suitable for demanding automotive applications. They are used, for example, in the battery management system (BMS) and in on-board and off-board chargers. The new fuses of the AEO series offer many possible mounting options. In addition to the fuse, which requires a fuse holder (recommended model: SCHURTER CSO) and the classic mounting directly on a printed circuit board, screwable lugs for surface mounting or even flush mounting (axial mount) are also available.

PEI-Genesis supplies TE Connectivity commercial blind mate RF connectors. These connectors provide a modular, high-density, RF connection system for high performance. The commercial blind mate RF connector’s modular design permits application-specific configuration for high RF contact count. Lumberg’s 302299 connector from the Micromodul-series is designed for direct mating in insulation displacement technology (IDT) with 1.27 mm (.050″) pitch. With two to 22 poles and pre-nickeled and tinned contact springs, as well as closed sides, it offers a direct connection of flat cables with the printed circuit board – a space and cost saving solution. The optimized new generation connector ensures correct orientation and locks on the circuit board. Gold-plated contact areas are an option. This connector is suitable for many applications in automotive, consumer, industrial, medical, and communications.

Axojump Flat Flexible Cables (FFC) from Axon’ are designed for board-to-board interconnections in electronic systems. They are made up of flat tin or gold plated copper conductors insulated with polyester or polyimide tapes. Pitches ranging from space-saving 0.30 mm up to 1.25 mm are available. In addition to the standard range, Axon’ has developed customizable flat flex cables that can incorporate folds, shields, notches, punching, slitting, marking, or special mounting methods. FFC-Flat Flexible cables are compatible with ZIF and LIF connectors and are suitable for car radios, GPS systems, switch rotary connectors, headliners, and door panels.

Hirose’s innovative DF40T board-to-FPC connector series used in automotive infotainment systems offers high density mounting and space-savings. The DF40T contact design and material are optimized for high heat resistance (125°C). The connector is PCI Express 4.0 (16 Gb/s) compliant.

KYOCERA AVX has released the first wire-to-board RF coaxial IDC connectors for industrial and automotive applications. The 00-6791 Series RF Coaxial IDC Connectors are comprised of two small, single-piece solutions suited to different types of coaxial cable and feature a patented one-touch coaxial cable termination mechanism that simplifies the connection process. The RF IDC connectors’ RF performance surpasses that of cables soldered directly to a PCB. They have a lower component cost and smaller physical size than traditional two-piece RF connectors with comparable performance — measuring down to 10 mm x 6.6 mm x 3.9 mm when seated, and enable easier, less time-consuming, and less costly assemblies than soldered and traditional RF connectors. The series is compatible with Bluetooth, GPS, GSM, and WLAN protocols. It satisfies demanding automotive and industrial requirements including rugged construction, space constraints, time savings, and cost efficiencies.

The MX62 Series from JAE has been developed to comply with USB 3.0 protocols for automotive applications, specifically automotive infotainment. MX62 Series is an automotive connector compatible with USB 3.0 transmission specifications to provide 5 Gb/s transmission speeds. The MX62 Series satisfies these requirements and achieves both mechanical and environmental performance for vehicle-mounted requirements. Shielded wires developed exclusively for automotive use are used for applicable wires.
