The Souriau 8D ELIO Series connectors from PEI-Genesis feature a flexible 38999 circular option for fiber optic termini. They are designed around a robust 2.5 mm ceramic ferrule, with insertion and retention held stable by a bayonet locking mechanism and are simple to use and terminate. These connectors are used by Airbus as a standard on aircraft programs like A380, A350, and A330 for all fiber optic communication technologies. The connection is sealed from the rear side without a backshell or grommet, covering layouts from 1 to 25 ways in all types of material shells. In the female insert, the termini are flushed to the insert surface, thus making it easy to inspect and clean the fiber optical end-face, compared to the traditional dust collecting socket design. The same termini part number can adapt tight or loose structure cable. These contact extensions are ideal for the aerospace, defense, marine, and industrial markets, with excellent vibration resistance and optical performance.
Molex extends its line of very small form factor (VSFF) interconnect solutions from Avnet with the release of MDC adapters and cable assemblies. MDC connectors, cable assemblies, patch panels, and cassettes are intended for dense connector environments, feature proven 1.25 mm ferrule technology used in industry-standard LC optical connectors, and use revolutionary US Conec DirectConec push-pull boot technology.
The BM28 series from Hirose Electric offers an improved self-alignment range with metal guide for smooth and easy mating operation. The robust, reliable structure prevents damage if the header and receptacle are mated incorrectly. When mated, the BM28 has a narrow depth stacking height of 0.6 mm, providing a space-saving design.
MPS-1000 singlemode jumper cables from CDM Electronics feature LC miniature small-form-factor connectors. Cables are insertion and return loss tested (typical insertion loss 0.30dB and typical return loss >55dB). All jumper cables are serialized and 100% quality tested per CDM protocol, with individual test records included for each. Every assembly exceeds Telcordia endface geometry standards. Custom configuration is available.
Samtec’s FireHawk™ ruggedized optical transceivers combine extreme density with extreme performance to meet the harshest environments of land, sea, air, and space. The innovative design delivers much needed fiber optic bandwidth to a new generation of radar, vision systems, communications networks, surveillance, and reconnaissance sensors.
