Report Shows Small Companies are Bright Spot in North American EMS Market
Small-company performance is one bright spot in the July 2013 edition of the IPC North American EMS Market Report released this month by IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries. This month’s report indicates that the smallest EMS companies that participate in IPC’s North American EMS Statistical Program — those with less than $10 million in annual sales — have performed extremely well this year, with year-to-date sales growth almost 18% above the same period last year and year-to-date order growth of almost 25%.
This month’s report also shows that 71% of the sales reported by participating companies this year are for PCB assembly, with the percentage of box build and other types of production showing growth in recent months.
