Disposable Connectors Product Roundup
This week’s Product Roundup highlights disposable connectors from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
Disposable connectors
Eclipta ECL Series from Smiths Interconnect, a Molex company, features an easy assembly and highdensity interconnect design, making it ideal for use with mapping and ablation catheters, RF generators, home healthcare devices, value medical systems, and many other disposable medical devices. Eclipta’s edge card contact module in the reusable connector body is designed for high mating cycle life, providing reliable connection over the life of the device. Mates to PC board on the disposable connector side. The high mating cycle life (minimum 2,500 mating cycles) increases Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of reusable side.
Kensington Electronics Inc. supplies the Hypergrip Series from Smiths Interconnect, a Molex company. HyperGrip Circular Connector Series is available with 5, 12, 19, or 33 pin positions and a user-configurable keying system. While competitive products require purchasing a different connector for each keying configuration needed, Smiths’ advanced keying system allows customers to build connectors with six different keying options, reducing lead time and inventory. The HyperGrip connector’s sleek, robust body delivers superior performance in the most crucial applications. Standard sealing offers IP65 protection when mated to prevent electrical shorts, and the available shielding feature supplies EMI/RFI protection, providing the highest degree of safety and reliability. The HyperGrip series features Smiths Hypertac Hyperboloid contact technology.
PEI-Genesis offers LEMO’s Redel P Series push-pull self-latching connector. LEMO Redel P Series connectors feature a secure mechanical connection with a push-pull self-latching system and an audible click when mated. Standard and reverse gender configurations and multiple mechanical keying options are available to avoid mis-mating. The LEMO Redel P Series uses polyetherimide (PEI) housing material which can withstand steam sterilization and resists the common sterilization methods required multiple times. The durability and lightweight characteristics make it an ideal choice for applications and instrumentation including wearable/movable medical devices, audio/video, and other applications where a high– reliable connector is required and a quick-mating connector is needed.
