This week’s Product Roundup highlights V2X connectors from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.

V2X connectors

KW02C connectors from JAEKW02C connectors from JAE are CHAdeMO-compliant and are suitable for both V2H (vehicle to home) and V2G (vehicle to grid) applications. This product has an ergonomic handle and a 20% reduction in size and weight compared to the previous generation KW02. The output rating has been increased to enable faster charging and discharging. The cable is compatible with JCS certification (Japanese market) and CE certification (European market). In accordance with CHAdeMO V2H guidelines, a self-holding solenoid is used as the locking mechanism. It has its own lock detection system, which allows the engagement status to be verified through the EVPS.

ATTEND’s M.2 Gen5 connectorATTEND’s M.2 Gen5 connector is engineered for high-performance next-generation storage and connectivity solutions, supporting the PCIe Gen5 interface with ultra-fast data transfer speeds of up to 32 GT/s, ensuring rapid data processing and seamless communication in demanding environments. This compact connector complies with PCI-SIG M.2 specifications and maintains compatibility with PCIe 3.0, SATA 3.0, and USB 3.0, accommodating a wide range of devices, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, wireless WAN, and SSDs. M.2 slots (including Gen5) are frequently used for in-vehicle computing platforms as interfaces for wireless modules — such as 5G modems that support C-V2X — which enable V2X functionality.

Adam Tech’s High Speed Mini FAKRA connectors and cable assembliesAdam Tech’s High Speed Mini FAKRA connectors and cable assemblies support the automotive industry with the next generation of coaxial technology. These products support data transmission rates up to 20 Gb/s, and frequencies up to 9 GHz. They require 80% less installation space than standard FAKRAs. Adam Tech’s offering includes multiple color-coded board-side plugs and double-ended mini FAKRA jack cable assemblies. Mini FAKRA to standard FAKRA cable assemblies are also available, bridging the gap between the two generations.

Schaltbau’s HV series connectorsSchaltbau’s HV series connectors feature solid power and signal contacts and are suitable for a wide range of high-current applications. The robust connectors have a modular design and protection against accidental contact. They are IP69K certified and designed for a high number of mating cycles. Rated voltages are up to 1,000 volts and rated currents are up to 470 amps. Main contacts in the plug and socket housing are safely protected against accidental contact. A sliding mechanism on the handle of the socket housing allows for one-handed operation. An optional switching element in the socket housing signals a correctly plugged-in connector. Solid power contacts for different connection cross-sections up to 95 mm2 and four universally applicable signal contacts are available. HV series connectors meet the requirements of UL94-V0 and EN 45545 fire protection standards.

Samtec SEARAY™ productsSamtec SEARAY™ products are the industry’s largest offering of high-density open-pin-field arrays. They are Final Inch® certified for Break Out Region trace routing recommendations to save designers time and money. The open pin field array, on a 1.27 mm X 1.27 mm grid, allows designers to specify pins for single-ended signals, differential pairs, ground, and power, all on the same connector. This maximizes grounding and routing flexibility, allowing up to 500 I/0s for single-ended designs or 125 differential pairs.
