announces its new Raychem S1260 Hot-Melt tape adhesive for high-temperature wire and cable repairs. The S1260 tape uses an environmentally resistant modified fluoropolymer for sealing high-temperature heat-shrink components to backshells, and is well suited for power cables with fluoropolymer and fluoroelastomer insulations and jackets.
“The Raychem S1260 Hot-Melt tape is an easy product to use for substrates with a high temperature and where adhesion may be difficult,” said John Kuster, senior product line manager, Global Aerospace, Defense & Marine, TE Connectivity. “Because the tape is temperature- and fluid-resistant, it’s ideal to use for sealing and jacket repair in harsh environments.”
The fluid-resistant tape adheres to polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) insulation and may be used to repair high-temperature power cables. The tape cures with a heat gun and is especially well suited for ground defense and aerospace applications. Additionally, S1260 tape measures only three-fourths of an inch wide, making it convenient for wrapping while minimizing the amount of wasted material.
