Sensor Solutions Product Roundup
This week’s Product Roundup highlights sensors from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
Sensor solutions
Amphenol LTW M series sensor push-in field-installable connectors, available from PEI-Genesis, are a heavy-duty, waterproof, shielded connector series rated to IP65, IP67, and IP68 with current ratings of 1.5A to 28A. Amphenol LTW M series sensor connectors are available in receptacle (rear-fastened or front-fastened) and overmolded with cable and field installable variations. The LTW M Series connectors feature a patented push-in terminal design enabling fast and reliable wire termination. Once assembled and mated, the connectors are IP68 rated when mated. They’re also corrosion-resistant and have a -40 °C to +105 °C temperature range. Amphenol LTW M series sensor connectors are designed to perform in harsh environments and meet the demands of wireless infrastructure, surveillance, industrial, transportation, and other harsh applications.
ams OSRAMs OSLON Black from Avnet offers an outstanding power/size ratio combined with different half angles, which enable this LED product to adapt to the needs of the application. With the development of the new Infrabright IR:6 Chip technology, ams OSRAM increases the value of IR-based applications such as biometric authentication and security cameras, producing brighter IR illumination and image quality while extending battery run-time. Ideal for automotive and industrial applications.
ept’s Zero8 connector family, featuring a 0.8 mm pitch, is an ideal solution for sensor connectivity. The Zero8 series of SMT connectors delivers robust and dependable connections while maintaining high-speed performance of over 16 Gb/s, allowing for rapid sensor responsiveness. The connector design is gender-neutral, incorporating both a blade contact and a spring contact on each side of the connector pair. This configuration enables dual-sided connections on a single pin, providing high redundancy and optimal contact reliability in challenging environmental conditions. Variations include 12 to 80 contacts, right-angled or straight configurations, BTB stack heights ranging from 6 to 21 mm, and optional EMI shielding.
The Casco 2030100057 Universal Coolant Level Sensor from Waytek is ideal for use in heavy truck, passenger vehicles, as well as construction, marine, and industrial applications. This sensor is engineered to detect the presence of conductive fluids such as engine coolants. Discrete outputs reduce interface development time. It has standard 1/4-18 NPT mounting thread size and can be mounted in any orientation in plastic or metal reservoirs. The Casco Universal Coolant Level Sensor works in temperatures from -40 °C to 125 °C. 20 Max PSI. Output of 1.2 + 0.25 VDC in fluid, 3.75 – 4.0 VDC in air, and input of 4.75-5.25 VDC max 12.5mA.
Axon’ Cable provides packaging and interconnect solutions for sensors, like the photoresistor pictured here, to applications such as medical, aerospace, automotive, and research. Axon Cable’s objective is to meet and succeed in the future challenges with innovative sensor technologies by manufacturing custom-designed packaging solutions in accordance with requirements and regulations in the dedicated markets. Axon’ offers a wide range of interconnect solutions with ready-to-use or customized connectors, with a comprehensive design including research & development, stamping, molding, shielding, and packaging capabilities.
TE Connectivity’s High Resolution Wheel Speed Sensor provides precise and detailed wheel rotation data, essential for enhancing the performance of vehicles with advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving capabilities. These sensors excel in accuracy and reliability, delivering critical information that supports a wide range of modern and next-generation functions.
TE Connectivity’s Calibrated IntraSense series of 1-French disposable catheter tip pressure sensors is designed for minimally invasive devices. The fully encapsulated pre-calibrated assembly eliminates the need for manual calibration.
Heilind Electronics supplies TE Connectivity’s Lumawise Motion street lighting motion sensor. Lumawise provides energy savings while still maintaining the safety and security of a well-lit area. The sensor can turn off a luminaire and offers a range of dimming up to 100% brightness for two minutes when motion is detected. The Lumawise Motion fits into the Zhaga-D4i ecosystem and works as a standalone control device or in combination with a Zhaga-D4i photocell or communication node for greater levels of control. This sensor is a pluggable device with the standard Zhaga book 18 interface for easy upgrades. The one-handed, easy-under luminaire connection lets installers work below the luminaire, while masks are available to create self-defined detection zones. Ideal lighting applications for TE Lumawise Motion sensor include streets, parks, recreational, walkways, stations, and high bay.
