Power Connectors Used in Transportation Applications
Amphenol Sine AT Series connectors supplied by Allied Electronics & Automation are a high-performance, cost-effective solution for use in transportation and other applications. They contain superior environmental seals and seal retention capabilities. The connector design incorporates an integral latching system that ensures a definitive electrical and mechanical connection. Connector housings are manufactured with a durable thermoplastic material that has excellent UV resistance, dielectric/mechanical properties, and is environmentally RoHS compliant. The sealing system is comprised of a front and rear silicone, multi-sealing perimeter against environmental ingress. Contacts are derived from quality copper alloy to ensure an electrically reliable connection. AT Series connectors are compatible with existing standard products industry-wide and are perfect for heavy equipment, transportation, marine, and alternative energy applications.
The JK11 Series from JAE is a high-current waterproof connector developed for railway vehicles and related electronic equipment. The JK11 shell, with the high-current contacts arranged horizontally, provides a slimmer profile compared to conventional circular connectors. JK11’s lever mating system simplifies mating operations. This connector is also compliant with FST (fire, smoke, toxicity) standards for railway vehicles and can be safely considered for global railway projects. The series has a compact robust RoHS design in a metal shell with polarization, user-friendly push-lock mating, and quick-release unmating mechanisms. It is sealed IPx7 and IP6K9K when mated. The high-reliability Hypertac hyperboloid contacts are rated for up to 500 A, and the connectors have 360º shielding. Designed for use in all types of high-power applications, the HBB series is particularly suitable for electric drives used in fighting vehicles, unmanned vehicles, rail transport, and industrial applications.

iConnector’s high-voltage, high-power inline power connector is designed for heavy-duty transportation. This connector is available in a two cable configuration, and has two 300 A poles and three 80 A poles. It is IP67 rated, salt-spray resistant, and has a lever connection for better vibration resistance.
The Great Golden from Positronic, supplied by Powell Electronics, is an extreme power connector capable of up to 200 amps per contact in a modular package with liberal blind-mating capabilities. The Great Golden series carries the most power in a single package and is a modular connector with a fixed envelope.
BizLink’s cable assembly for vehicle ATC offers a high voltage rating up to 1500 V. It provides resistance to oil, ozone, and weathering. Suitable at fixed or sporadic moving installations, it is UL VW-1 flame retardant qualified.
Combining the field proven TL series of power connectors and XLPE high voltage cable, JPC Connectivity is providing solutions to meet the needs of commercial EV applications in agriculture, construction, and heavy equipment. Offered in various types and configurations: feedback/feedthru, eElectronic, in-line splice, and ground, Series I Terminal Junction Modules use standard M39029/1 pin contacts. Mounting rail and installation/termination accessories are available, as are customization options. The integral socket/bus bar assures electrical and mechanical integrity over a long product life. Integral contacts provide high conductivity for optimum electrical performance. The split socket design provides peripheral surface wipe and contact, and uses the maximum mating surfaces of pin and contact. Multiple product types and a wide range of products in four standard sizes accommodates 12-26 AWG wires. Class D module system combines max high temperature and high fluid resistance performance parameters previously divided among three module classes – A, B, C. Modules can be supplied with a variety of diode, resistors, capacitors, and fuses.
