With numerous certifications for a wide range of industrial applications, this solution supports Profinet CC-A and Ethernet/IP networks with features including Quality of Service (QoS), broadcast storm protection, and LLDP filtering. They are designed for maximum efficiency and are easy to install with tool-free, snap-in mounting and PUSH IN wiring.

Würth Elektronik introduced its new USB socket, WR-COM USB 3.1 PD Type C – Power Only SMTWürth Elektronik introduced its new USB socket, WR-COM USB 3.1 PD Type C – Power Only SMT in time to meet the EU’s mandatory standard for USB-C connectors and USB Power Delivery. Used exclusively for power transmission, it supports the USB Power Delivery (USB-PD) communication protocol for adaptive charging up to 240 W. The USB-C socket, designed exclusively as a power supply and charging interface, communicates with the power supply and automatically determines the maximum charging power. In EPR (Extended Power Range) mode, up to 240 W flows into the batteries. Intelligent communication ensures particularly short charging times and prevents damage to circuits due to excessive currents. Würth Elektronik also increased its selection of FPC connectors with the introduction of WR-FPC ZIF (zero insertion force) connectors that feature a locking mechanism and gold-plated contacts. Gold over nickel on the connector strip improves electrical conductivity, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and reliability. The mechanical properties and polarity of the gold-plated connectors are identical to the standard series with tin plating, so no design changes are required if a customer wishes to upgrade.

binder introduced a new generation of molded M16 connectorsbinder introduced a new generation of molded M16 connectors, engineered to deliver reliability and performance even in the harshest conditions. The versatile M16 circular connectors are designed for applications ranging from heavy-duty machinery, like construction cranes and excavators, to precision-driven laboratory equipment. To meet diverse requirements, ensuring stable and reliable connections in extreme conditions, such as freezing temperatures and exposure to dirt and dust, binder has completely redesigned these M16 connectors. The previous version included many existing parts from field-wireable connectors, not all of which were ideal for the molded version. With an expanding portfolio and increasing demand, binder decided to use a modular system, enabling many common parts between the unshielded and shielded variants. Particular attention was paid to applications in industrial machinery, camera systems, and pressure sensors. These areas require maximum electrical reliability and therefore a robust connector system that functions under difficult operating conditions. The new M16 connectors have lead-free contacts, a compact design, and high sealing performance.

Hirose’s KFL2 Series micro RF connectorHirose’s KFL2 Series micro RF connector features a low 1.2 mm profile when mated. Offering design flexibility, the space-saving connector is available in two versions: an RF cable mating type and an FPC-to-board mating type. Both versions support high-density mounting to further save valuable PCB real estate. The connector delivers excellent high-frequency performance and has low voltage standing wave ratios (VSWR) of 1.3 Max: 0 to 3 GHz; 1.5 Max: 3 to 6 GHz; 1.6 Max: 6 to 8 GHz. Compatible with pick-and-place mounting, the K.FL2 Series connector is commonly used in consumer applications including laptop computers, smart phones, tablets, VR/AR glasses, and routers. The tapered design allows easy mating with significantly reduced insertion force. A polarity key makes it easy to identify the mounting direction, and a clear tactile click confirms proper mating. A robust, integrated plug design prevents plug deformation during un-mating while delivering high retention force. Solder wicking and flux penetration is prevented via a nickel barrier at the shell and contact.

Advanced Interconnections Corp. launched a new family of board-to-board connectorsAdvanced Interconnections Corp. launched a new family of board-to-board connectors featuring pitch sizes from 0.50 mm to 1.00 mm with multi-pitch and custom pitch designs available. This new series is uniquely suited to modern PCB interconnect challenges. Designed for long-life applications and robust handling, they are manufactured with screw-machined terminations with multi-finger contacts and include a wealth of value-added features. They come with either protective pick-and-place covers or heavy-duty, shrouded insulators. The options of covers or insulators helps provide positive polarization and as well as superior durability for the connectors. Available in standard pitch sizes including 0.50 mm, 0.65 mm, 0.75, 0.80 mm, and 1.00 mm, these connectors deliver low signal attenuation, insertion loss, and return loss. Even with adjacent aggressor excitation, the socket systems provide a differential path of +/- 175mV @ 100 p/sec and a single-ended data path of +/- 125 mV @ 140 psec. Using innovative, hybrid design features, this socket technology can minimize adjacent terminal electromagnetic coupling, which significantly reduces NeXT/FeXT. Additionally, this hybrid design creates a pseudo-matched impedance environment that stabilizes the insertion loss and return loss when differentially driven. AIC’s new board-to-board connections are now available in a variety of standard options with the ability to readily customize standard offerings for application-specific requirements.

Amphenol RF’s new IP67 FAKRA straight crimp rear mount bulkhead plug is specifically designed to support TFC 302LL and comparable cable typesAmphenol RF’s new IP67 FAKRA straight crimp rear mount bulkhead plug is specifically designed to support TFC 302LL and comparable cable types which offer reliable mechanical and electrical performance along with low-loss capabilities. This FAKRA plug is color-coded and mechanically keyed for easy installation and is available in a variety of key codes including the universal Z code. It is ideal for automotive and industrial automation applications such as sensor integration, automated inspection, and vehicle communication networks.

Würth Elektronik introduced the first two components of its new program for optical sensors (product code: WL-OSEN)Würth Elektronik introduced the first two components of its new program for optical sensors (product code: WL-OSEN). These compact modules contain both emitters and detectors for infrared light at 940 nm wavelength. These sensors filter out visible light up to 800 nm, which, compared to many sensors on the market that only filter up to 700 nm, makes them less susceptible to errors occurring under artificial lighting. The sensor in the 4-SMD gullwing standard housing measures 2.7 × 3.4 × 1.5 mm without contacts. It is designed for close range, typically at a 1 mm distance and serves as a simple touch switch, for example under a glass plate. The second compact SMD sensor, with its lower beam angle and measuring 2.0 × 1.6 × 0.75 mm, can detect at a up to 10 mm distance, making it more robust against crosstalk than a simple touch switch, for example, when used under glass. Both sensors offer an analog output and low energy consumption. Possible applications include optical encoders, switches and interlocks, as well as object detection or touch applications
