Hermetically sealed connectors
Lumberg’s 03-series AISG circular connectors are perfect for base stations, on both ends of the RET-cable (remote electric tilt antenna), and in associated devices such as bias tees, TMAs (tower mounted amplifiers), splitter boxes, surge protections, and actuators. Lumberg connectors according to AISG specification are dust- and water-sealed when counterparts are screwed down. SWUM (Sealed When UnMated) products are unique to Lumberg and are designed to eliminate the need to pot or seal the connectors after production, saving on costly time and labor.
Greene Tweed’s Seal-Connect multi-pin connectors are built for maximum electrical reliability in harsh environments. Available in a variety of body types and pin counts, Greene Tweed engineers work with you to design a custom connector solution suited to your needs. Filled grades of Arlon are available upon request. Greene Tweed also offers Seal-Connect single-pin connectors that provide secure, reliable power and signal transmission in extreme conditions and demanding applications. SV Microwave has launched a line of hermetically sealed bulkhead adapters. These panel mount connectors can be used for inside-of-the-box applications that must withstand harsh elements like water, dust, air, or the vacuum of space. Current configurations include SMA, 2.92mm, SMP, and SMPM series.
TE Connectivity (TE)’s DEUTSCH DBA series push pull connectors from Avnet are designed for severe environments in aeronautic, military, and space applications. HermAx hermetic micro-D connectors from Axon’ Cable act as pressure or vacuum seals or as a protection against the environment for sensitive equipment. They are typically used where a panel separates two different environments or when an enclosure needs to be isolated from the surrounding area; they allow electrical connection across both sides. HermAx hermetic miniature connectors are available in different versions including pigtail connectors, feedthrough, and PCB connectors. Axon’ can guaranty leak rates lower than 10-9 mbar.l/s. The high conductivity contacts are made from high performance copper alloy, capable of 3A per contact, per MIL-DTL-83513
Eaton’s 8D Hermetic MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors from PEI-Genesis feature stainless steel housing, glass-fused inserts, and a leak rate under 10⁻⁷ atm.cm³/s for extreme environments. With up to 128 contacts (#22D) and resistance to 200 °C and vibration, they’re ideal for actuators, sensors, and valves.
