Avnet offers Broadcom Fibre Channel kits that facilitate a simple means to evaluate and experience their products. These fiber optic kits contain all the components and tools required to quickly evaluate and access the value of their products within their respective applications.

JPC Connectivity’s 1G LX SFP transceivers use a long wavelength (1310nm) FP laser diode to enable data transmission on up to 10km of a single-mode (9/125μm) optical fiber. This product family of small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules is specifically designed for the high performance integrated duplex data links over single-mode fibers. These transceiver modules are compliant with the SFP Multisource Agreement (MSA). The module is hot-pluggable, so it offers an easy way to be installed into SFP MSA compliant ports at any time without the interruption of the host equipment operating online.

The Fibre Channel D-sub connector series from Smiths Interconnect features a multi-finger ground spring fixed around the shell to provide a multi-point contact engagement that affords superior EMI shielding. The result is extremely low contact resistance when measured from the contact outer body to the connector flange. The Fibre Channel D-Sub series offers a high data rate (6.25 Gb/s) and delivers superior performance ensuring minimal RF noise and high durability up to 1,000 mating cycles. This connector meets and surpasses all requirements of MIL-STD-202 for shock and vibration.

Heilind supplies Bel’s Cat6 patch cords that support voice communications and the transmission of 1G, 2.5G, and 5G data speeds, and Cat5E patch cords that support 1G and 2.5G data speeds. Channel compliant patch cords feature UL rated PVC jacket material in multiple lengths and colors, along with color-matching slim line snagless strain relief boots.

Samtec’s FireFly™ embedded and rugged optical transceivers take data connection “off-board” with performance to 28 Gb/s, with 32 Gb/s in development. FireFly achieves high-performance signal quality with BER better than 1E^-12 and is designed for on-board or on-package placement. It is available in x4 and x12 designs, with OM3 or OM4 multi-mode fiber, with a variety of end 2 options and heat sinks for various cooling processes.  In addition to the popular ECUO, other products include Extended Temperature FireFly™ with a -40 ºC to +85 ºC range for military and industrial applications (ETUO, ETMO); PCIe®-Over-Fiber optical cable systems transmit 3.0/4.0 data up to 100 m (PCUO), 5.0 data rate in development; and PCIe®-Over-Fiber adaptor card supports transparent and non-transparent bridging (PCOA).
