Connectors for Energy Applications Product Roundup
This week’s Product Roundup highlights connectors for energy applications from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
Connectors for Energy Applications
PEI Genesis supplies the Souriau UT0 circular metal connector series. UT0 features an IP68/69K sealing level and shielding capability for use in harsh environmental conditions such as high vibration levels, water, or shock. It provides a long life expectancy and reduces the need for connector maintenance, making it ideal for energy and power applications.
JAE’s DW Series is a rack and panel connector with two contacts for high current. It enables the connection of the two contacts for power supply and 20 contacts for signal at once. The DW Series is suitable for use in a wide range of applications such as battery storage systems, power supply systems, UPS, and other power supply control equipment. The DW1 Series is a UL recognized product.
The new generation of battery pole connectors from Phoenix Contact makes installation fast and easy. Like the originals, the newest additions can support power transmission up to 1,500 volts between battery modules in utility-scale and industrial-scale energy storage systems (ESS). The user-friendly design features mechanical and color coding to prevent errors during installation and repairs. The robust connector is IP-rated and touch-safe for high-powered applications. The mating interface can rotate 360°, making design more flexible and providing space for other communication components on the face of the rack.
Lumberg’s 4580 01 high-current contact is designed for both SMT (reflow) and THT soldering. This innovative phase contact offers a flexible solution for various assembly requirements and is particularly suitable for high-current applications. The 4580 01 high-current contact is characterized by its versatility and its robust and space-saving (4.9 x 4.95 mm W x D) design, which really excels in tight installation spaces. It can be plugged in from the top, bottom, and side, and is compatible with many standard blade contacts. The connection is made using flat blade connectors with widths from 2.8 to 6.8 mm and a thickness of 0.8 mm (0.5 mm in preparation), enabling easy integration into various PCB designs. The high-current contact has been tested and meets the requirements of industry standard LV215 for electric vehicle applications and Volkswagen standard VW 80332 for Motor Vehicle High-Voltage Contacts.
Adam Tech’s ESF/ESM Series energy storage connectors provide a critical link between battery modules. This link ensures safe and reliable connections in energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging, renewable energy devices, and industrial and consumer energy storage systems. The series is composed of various mated pairs, offered in both orange and black. Various voltage ratings, current ratings, and wire gauges are supported, making this series compatible with a wide range of applications. Compatible dust covers are available to provide additional protection.
HARTING’s Han HPR Single Pole connector series redefines high-power connectivity, supporting up to 4000 V in a compact, single-core format tailored for energy-intensive and rugged applications. Engineered with die-cast aluminum housings and IP68/IP69 sealing, it withstands extreme shock, vibration, and outdoor conditions, making it ideal for rail traction, power distribution, inverters, wind turbines, and renewable energy systems.
Amphenol LTW connectors play a far more critical role in industrial energy applications than simply being connection components. As core interfaces for power transmission, signal control, and data exchange, their performance directly determines the safety, efficiency, and operational stability of entire energy systems. In sectors such as wind power, solar photovoltaics, energy storage, and smart grids, these connectors serve as fundamental components enabling device interconnection, power transmission, and signal control.
V-Max series connectors from ACDRA Interconnect are rated for 2000 V and can carry currents of up to 600 A. Featuring an IP67 rating, HVIL capability, and a secondary locking mechanism, these connectors also support custom configurations upon request. They serve as a reliable interconnect solution for energy storage applications.
