Phoenix Contact offers right-angle M12 connectors Phoenix Contact offers right-angle M12 connectors for through-hole reflow (THR) soldering processes. Previously, angled M12 PCB connectors required manual assembly and additional drilling to accommodate the snap-hook design. The new connectors are compatible with pick-and-place for automated PCB assembly, making production more efficient. The new angled form factor offers more placement options on the PCB, even in tight spaces. The optimized design shifts the center of gravity towards the PCB for a more stable connection. This design flexibility helps to keep manufacturing lines running efficiently. The M12 connector is designed for voltages up to 250 V and currents up to 4 A. It is available in A and D codings and in four-, five-, and eight-position versions. The two-piece design is compatible with Phoenix Contact’s existing M12 THR housings.

Smiths Interconnect launched EZiCoax,Smiths Interconnect launched EZiCoax, a single-piece, compression mount, 50-ohm RF coaxial contact for use in board-to-board signal transmissions. EziCoax delivers exceptional performance, with data frequency up to 40 GHz, and is designed to be used in high-value aerospace and defense applications, such as satellite communications and advanced radar systems, where it will help enable secure, precise, and reliable communications, fundamental to the success of space and defense operations. EZiCoax leverages Smiths Interconnects’ extensive spring probe heritage, employing this technology in both its center and outer conductors to create a fully compliant connection between printed circuit boards. The smallest coax offering has a low profile down to a 3.30 mm board-to-board distance and can be used on a pitch as small as 3 mm. EZiCoax is designed to be incorporated in interposer solutions that assure alignment and offer the opportunity to integrate various types of signal and power contacts, as well as additional features such as gasketing and bosses, which further enhance compliance and versatility.

Harwin has extended its Kontrol connector lineupHarwin has extended its Kontrol connector lineup for industrial and embedded applications with the addition of 72 through hole retention connectors to further enhance resilience and board-level reliability in harsh operational environments. This launch follows Harwin’s trend of bringing features originally developed for advanced high-reliability products to the Kontrol range to address market forces. Tests show through hole retention offers up to twice the PCB retention force of surface mount retention options. The Through Hole Retention Kontrol series is rated for up to 500 matings and has a vibration tolerance of 20 G for up to 12 hours. Like other Kontrol connectors, these devices feature a 1.27 (0.05″) pitch and are available in nine pin variants from 6+6 to 40+40 layouts, and both vertical and horizontal options for space-constrained environments. The devices are fully shrouded with recessed contacts to protect against damage and are polarized to allow assembly in one direction only to assist in blind mating. The connectors also feature location pegs to ensure correct board placement and inhibit movement while soldering. The range’s tolerance to misalignment remains high, with an allowable linear misalignment of between 2o and 4o+/- 1o depending on the connector. Harwin’s Through Hole Retention Kontrol connectors are available immediately, including in tape and reel packaging for automated assembly processes. They are free from lead, brominated flame retardants, red phosphor (PFOS/PFOA) and antimony, and are fully RoHS compatible and contain no REACH SVHCs.

Applied Motion Products introduced the MLA and MEA Series Linear Actuators.Applied Motion Products introduced the MLA and MEA Series Linear Actuators. These new actuator families are designed to deliver exceptional precision, force, and reliability across a wide range of industrial and automation environments. The MLA (Motorized Linear Actuator) and MEA (Motorized Electric Actuator) series represent a new generation of compact linear motion solutions. Each actuator combines a high-performance stepper or StepSERVOs motor with a precision ball screw or lead screw mechanism in a fully integrated, ready-to-install package. Engineered to simplify system integration and enhance motion performance, the MLA and MEA series offer flexible configurations ideal for OEMs, machine builders, and automation professionals.

Harwin has upgraded its online cable configuration tool,Harwin has upgraded its online cable configuration tool, designed to enable “right-first-time” configurations and reduce the time engineers spend designing cable assemblies. Originally launched at Electronica 2024, the easy-to-navigate tool now covers the Gecko, Kona, and M300 ranges of Harwin HRi high-reliability products. Newly added features include the ability to specify assemblies for must-not-fail applications, a wider range of 3D model formats, and instant generation of 2D drawings in PDF format. Engineers can now also specify mixed layouts of power and signal connectors for the Gecko range, select multiple wire gauges, choose from standard cable lengths (150 mm, 300 mm, and 450 mm), define wire color options, and indicate required wire lengths. Engineers using the online tool can configure high-performance, high-reliability connectors in a single- or double-ended cable assembly through the simple selection of a few key design parameters. A 3D render is then automatically created in real time for download alongside technical drawings, part numbers, and the option to request a quote. These fully functional configurations are guaranteed to meet specification and can be supplied with very short delivery times. Users can also reverse engineer designs for existing solutions.

Mouser ElectronicsMouser Electronics is focused on the rapid introduction of new electronic components and technologies, giving customers an edge and helping speed time to market. Last quarter, Mouser launched over 15,000 new part numbers ready for shipment, with almost 10,000 introduced in April alone. Some of the products introduced by Mouser from April through June include: ROHM Semiconductor ML63Q2537 and ML63Q2557 Microcontrollers, Seeed Studio reCamera 2002 and 2002w AI Cameras, STMicroelectronics LSM6DSV320X 6-Axis Inertial Measurement Unit, and Schneider Electric Altivar Machine Drive ATV320 Solar VSDs.

Weidmuller USA launched PROeco II Power SuppliesWeidmuller USA launched PROeco II Power Supplies to deliver permanent, high performance power distribution in a wide range of industrial applications. This line is well-suited for use in automation, packaging lines, OEM specific equipment, water treatment, food and beverage, and automotive. Engineered with innovative technical upgrades from the original PROeco line, the second-generation PROeco II Power Supplies exceed the demands of modern industry with improved energy-saving efficiency of up to 95% and extremely low power dissipation, resulting in reduced heat and operating costs. Robust, flexible and durable, PROeco II Power Supplies operate reliably in a wide temperature range, as low as -40 °C, and are suitable for extended use with a Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) of over one million hours, typically found on much more expensive power supplies. Optimized for space-constrained applications, they are 15% more compact than their first-generation counterparts and can save as much as 50% more space on the DIN rail compared to other products on the market. This compact design makes the PROeco II series suitable for small distribution cabinets and enclosures, which are otherwise space constrained from power supplies of similar capacity.
