TE Connectivity has earned a top 10 ranking among the 2023 Fast Company Best Workplaces for Innovators. Developed in collaboration with Accenture, the Best Workplaces for Innovators celebrates companies that encourage and develop innovation at all levels. TE placed eighth on the list, which ranks 100 winners from around the world working in a wide variety of industries. One of the keys to TE’s innovative success is the ability of its global engineering teams to collaborate with each other and with customers to respond to changing market demands. TE’s innovators regularly show their ability to predict upcoming industry needs. For example, while some experts questioned the potential of electrifying commercial transportation, TE invested in the development of PowerTube, one of the first connection systems tailored to industry requirements and able to deliver high-voltage power reliably and efficiently from the battery to the rest of the vehicle. The newly launched product is already being integrated into the designs of major manufacturers and is expected to help advance the electrification of commercial vehicles.  

DigiKey received the Distribution Excellence Award 2023 High Service Level from Sensirion based on its global customer count and revenue growth metrics. The award was presented at Sensirion’s annual distribution summit in June, which was hosted in Küsnacht, Switzerland. The event also showcased the company’s cutting-edge technology roadmaps and provided detailed trainings and panel discussions. Sensirion manufactures high-quality sensors and sensor solutions for the measurement and control of humidity, air quality, and gas and liquid flows. Sensirion and DigiKey have been strategic partners since 2016.

AirBorn Inc. and ODU-USA entered into an agreement for a new defense and aerospace-grade circular connector series which will offer performance equal to or better than the legacy MIL- DTL-38999 style and other mini-circular connectors widely used in defense and aerospace applications. The products will be manufactured and qualified to a joint product specification to ensure compatibility and functionality. Additionally, the products will utilize existing MIL-Std contacts or optional higher performance contacts to provide state-of-art reliability and performance in harsh environment applications. AirBorn’s product will be available for sale in late 2023.  

Trexon announced its acquisition of 603 Manufacturing, a value-added manufacturer of high-performance wire and cable assemblies. This further expands Trexon’s RF/microwave coaxial cable assembly solutions and box builds for military & aerospace, space, telecom, medical, and industrial applications.  

As of August 1, 2023, Weidmüller Ltd. Canada has been integrated into AD’s Electrical – Canada division, which is recognized as the largest marketing/buying group for construction and industrial supplies in North America. The AD distributor network is exceptionally well-positioned to market Weidmüller’s extensive range of offerings, including terminal blocks, power supplies, relays, I/Os, heavy duty connectors, signal conditioning, Ethernet product classifications, and more, throughout the Canadian marketplace. The Weidmüller Group has production sites, sales companies, and representatives in more than 80 countries. Together with its customers, the Detmold-based family business is shaping the digital transformation – with products, solutions and services for smart industrial connectivity and the Industrial Internet of Things. In the 2022 fiscal year, Weidmüller generated a turnover of more than one billion euros with about 6,000 employees around the world.

Newark has expanded its range of products from Eaton, including automation, safety, motor applications, power management, and energy solutions. Eaton products now available from Newark include the easyE4 series of programmable control relays and the PKX and DIL series push-in range of motor protective circuit breakers and contactors. easyE4 provides a high number of inputs/outputs combined with a wide operating voltage range. The PKZ and DIL series offer system designers faster and more cost-effective assembly and feature a combination model that integrates screw and push-in connections in a single device. Eaton’s products promote safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability in the workplace.

IWCS Register NowRegistration is open for the 72nd annual IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum, taking place September 17–20, 2023 in Orlando, Florida, USA. This premier event features the traditional elements of the IWCS Forum, including a Technical Symposium featuring previously unpublished technical papers, Executive Session, Plenary Luncheon with influential Keynote Speaker, Supplier Exhibition, and Professional Development Courses. New enhancements include a “Havana Nights” themed welcome reception and expert panel discussions on topics related to emerging technologies and industry sustainability.
