NATO STANAG Interconnects Product Roundup
This week’s Product Roundup highlights NATO STANAG interconnects from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
NATO STANAG Interconnects
ITT Cannon’s MKJ Warrior connectors are a reliable interconnect solution that enables critical communication, navigation, and USB data/power for modern soldier applications. The MKJ Warrior Series provides a robust breakaway coupling system qualified to European GOSSRA and NATO STANAG 4695 connector standards and a canted retention spring system. It features a “first-mate-last-break” pin ground for hot-swap USB requirement. Contact types include rear crimp, solder cup, and PCB mount.
The ODU AMC NP available from DigiKey is a rugged metal connector that enhances a soldier’s ability to communicate on the battlefield. It is tested to MIL-STD-810H and applicable technical requirements. This connector is ideal for tactical soldier batteries, PDU (power distribution units), CWB (conformable wearable batteries), and C4ISR peripherals for transmitting USB 2.0 signals and power. The AMC NP contains improved power contacts with USB 2.0 capabilities, power-efficient contacts, a minimum of 2,000 mating cycles, and waterproofing up to IP68. Options with 20 m waterproof and solder, crimp, or PCB terminations are available. ODU AMC NP offers easy handling, a robust break-away design, and cable assembly integrated solutions. It is compatible with open architecture standards such as NATO STANAG 4695, Nett Warrior, and GOSSRA (general open structure architecture). The contact arrangement of an ODU data transmission connector differs from that of a standard data transmission connector due to the robust ODU-specific design. However, the ODU design meets the electrical specifications of the respective standard data transmission protocol.
Kensington Electronics supports military programs and defense primes with rapid availability, technical guidance, and supply-chain continuity for Fischer defense-grade interconnects. Fischer interconnect solutions that are compatible with NATO STANAG 4695 and 4851 have rugged features for sealing, resistance to corrosion, vibration, extreme temperatures, cable bending resistance, and key coding for unparalleled functionality and robustness in comparison with similar harsh-environment quick-release connectors. They are the ideal solution for use in the devices and equipment worn by dismounted soldiers in the field.
