Memory and SIM card connectors Product Roundup
This week’s Product Roundup highlights Memory and SIM card connectors from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
Memory and SIM card connectors
Amphenol is the first in the industry to offer card sockets for both microSD Express and Micro SD cards (UHS-I). The 17-pin microSD Express connector can achieve high speeds up to 985 Mb/s and meets PCIe 3.0 requirements. The connector enables the microSD Express platform to reach its full potential, making it possible for a microSD Express card to serve as a removable solid state drive (SSD). This new platform is ideal for high resolution content and speed-hungry mobile computing and IoT devices. The data rate is 8 GT/s (PCIe Gen 3 requirement). These card sockets support card-detect function and have backward compatibility and interoperability with legacy MicroSD cards.
JAE’s SG50 Series push-push SD card connector has superior harsh environment performance and can maintain high contact reliability over a long period of time. These features make it ideal for industrial equipment, production facilities, and other applications that require contact reliability and long service life. With two points of contact, the terminal structure allows for a reliable connection in the presence of dust, debris, and other foreign matter, and has excellent vibration and shock resistance. A UHS-II SD card compatible variant is also available for future high-speed and high-capacity requirements.
Kyocera AVX’s 9162-500 SIM/MicroSD combination series is a six-position slide-in SIM and push-push MicroSD connector. The connector allows two cards to be inserted at the same time and features a card detect switch for the MicroSD.
Optimized for reliability and high-speed data transfer, Molex’s compact, easy-to-use SD and SIM Memory Card Sockets, in different configurations, meet the quick and compact connection requirements of various industries. Smaller, semi-finished products are required due to increased battery capacity and the increase in demand for an internal semiconductor chip. Molex offers compact memory card sockets with a height of no more than 1.28mm, saving PCB space. As products become smaller, a minor external shock could cause short-circuit or misalignment. The hinge feature keeps the card stable, protecting it from external shocks and/vibrations.
ATTEND’s 2-in-1 stacked card connector features a vertical stacking design, saving up to 50% of PCB space compared to traditional dual-card connectors. It offers flexible configurations, including MicroSD and Nano SIM, MicroSD, and Micro SIM card options. Uniquely designed trays allow cards to be stacked vertically with customizable tray lengths, providing manufacturers with greater design flexibility. This connector is ideal for industrial automation, IoT deployments, and rugged portable equipment, delivering robust performance and versatile options for modern electronic devices.
