DBAS 9 connectors are scoop-proof and feature a visual and sensitive push-pull locking system for blind-mating applications, a leading clip to help prevent accidental unmating on demand, easy locking/unlocking (in heavy duty lanyard configuration), a wide range of configurations of D38999 inserts (high density, hybrid signal and power layout, and high-speed), a large range of backshells and accessories, and a rack and panel feature. Multiple surface-finishing options make integrated solutions for custom designs possible, such as integrated backshells, fiber optic and high-speed solutions. On request, DBAS 9 connectors can be manufactured according to European Space Agency (ESA) procedures to improve traceability and quality for critical space applications.

WAGO’s TOPJOB S continuous jumpersWAGO’s TOPJOB S continuous jumpers have expanded possibilities with the introduction of new three- and five-way continuous jumpers. As with previous jumper introductions, these variants utilize the exclusive jumper retention spring designed into TOPJOB S terminal blocks to ensure a vibration-proof connection every time. This offering provides additional options when circuit designs need to use the second row of jumper slots on TOPJOB S terminal blocks for other purposes, i.e., testing. Combined with staggered jumpers, they can cover a wide variety of end-uses and applications.

Schurter NEMA NR-010 crosswiresSCHURTER introduced a new version of its NR010 series NEMA 5-15R receptacles with IDC terminals for bussing insulated wires perpendicular to the pin axis. The new version completes the range with both vertical and horizontal bussed wire options. L, N, & E terminals can be bussed, or other variations such as IDC for N & E only, leaving the line terminal independent. The independent line terminal allows for the application of maximum load to each outlet according to UL rating 15 A, 125 V, or for extending functionality to each outlet. In addition to SCHURTER’s NR010 series with increased temperature ratings and IDC options, NEMA 5-15R appliance outlets NR020 and NR021 meet increased fire protection and safety standards according to UL 498 Tamper Resistant, as well as facilitating compliance of receptacles used in household and commercial furniture and furniture power distribution units (FPDUs), according to UL 962 and UL 962A. The NR021 NEMA 5-15R Tamper Resistant series meets the expanded code requirements according to UL 498. Additionally, it features a version with an added insulated wall between the L and N terminals, compliant with the spill test outlined in UL 962 Sec. 62.

Hirose the compact GT50 SeriesHirose has expanded its miniature wire-to-board connector family to include a single-row right-angle version: the compact GT50 Series. With a pitch of only 1 mm, the GT50 Series wire-to-board connector provides PCB space-savings and weight reduction of up to 75% compared to competing products. Superior heat and vibration resistance in an ultra-small housing makes this wire-to-board connector useful for traditional and emerging automotive applications. Its two-point contact system is enclosed between two springs that minimizes the effect of heat shrinkage on the contacts, improves contact reliability, and supports high heat applications up to 125 °C. GT50 utilizes a unique stabilizer that reduces wear in the contact area between header and crimp contacts commonly caused by vibration. With a high retention force of 25N, a user-friendly lock design has a clear tactile click to prevent incomplete mating. For additional mating security, a robust cable routing design prevents disconnecting. The GT50 Series connector is used in array mic/speaker, combination lamps, displays, electric mirrors, heads-up displays, and lidar, and is also well-suited for off-highway equipment like agricultural and construction machinery; specialty vehicles like automatic guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs); drones; and factory automation equipment.

CPA types are also available for other automotive connectors from Rosenberger.

Ironwood Electronics introduced the GTP-LGA-1003 socketIronwood Electronics introduced the GTP-LGA-1003 socket, a new LGA socket design using high performance elastomer capable of 94 GHz, very low inductance for test applications. The GTP-LGA-1003 is designed for 17×17 mm package size, 16×16 array, 1 mm pitch. It operates at bandwidths up to 94 GHz with less than 1 dB of insertion loss. The contact resistance is typically 30 milliohms per pin. The socket is mounted on the target PCB with hardware and no soldering. It uses very little space so capacitors/resistors can be placed close by. This socket uses a swivel lid with heat sink compression screw; place the device inside the socket and apply compression by turning the heat sink screw. The GTP-LGA-1003 socket is constructed with a high-performance and low-inductance elastomer contactor with protective layer. The protective layer prevents the elastomer from contamination and solder migration. Since the cleaning of the protective layer is very simple, testing downtime is reduced significantly. The temperature range is -55 C to +160 C. GTP-LGA-1003 works with ICs such as LGA255, 17×17 mm, 16×16 array with 1 mm pitch.

Sumitomo LowDK-LCP new dielectric property controlled Liquid Crystal Polymers (LCP)Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. has developed new dielectric property controlled Liquid Crystal Polymers (LCP) suitable for high-speed data transmission connectors and antenna radome applications where low relative permittivity (εr) and low dielectric loss (tanδ) are required. The relative permittivity (εr) of conventional LCP materials filled with glass fiber and mineral are concentrated in a narrow range of 3.5 to 4.0. Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. has developed LCP technology to control the relative permittivity (εr) values at 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, and 5.0; furthermore, the dielectric loss tangent is lower than conventional LCP products. Their lowest relative permittivity LCP grade has an εr = 2.5 and tanδ = 0.003 at 10GHz. The relative permittivity of the LCP must be controlled to support impedance matching which is typically done by connector manufacturers. Until now, connector manufacturers conduct impedance matching by changing the size or shape of the connector; however, as connectors become smaller and smaller, changing the size or shape of the connector becomes extremely difficult. Now, connector manufacturers can select the appropriate Sumitomo Chemical Co. Ltd. LCP grade with the desired relative permittivity for impedance matching without changing the original connector design.
