Hirose Electric presented Heilind Electronics with its 2024 Distributor of the Year Award. Mark Kojak, Hirose Americas president & COO, presented the award to Robert Clapp, Heilind CEO, at EDS 2025 in Las Vegas, NV. SV Microwave has been named Manufacturer of the Year in the Trailblazers category by the South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA) Recognition of Excellence Ceremony. In addition, eight employees were nominated for Employee of the Year, including Evan Bensemana and Lideivy Gonzales Cruz, who were recognized as Employee of the Year in the Engineering and Production categories, respectively. SV Microwave extends a special congratulations to Donald Vogel, named a runner-up in the Information Technology category. Each year, SFMA honors outstanding contributions to manufacturing operations and workforce development across South Florida. The 2025 red-carpet event took place at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, FL, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, and industry leaders.

Sager Electronics has been named 2024 Americas Design Distributor of the Year by RECOM Power. The award was presented at this year’s EDS Leadership Summit in Las Vegas. The award acknowledges Sager’s 175% growth in approved designs. “RECOM Power has been an outstanding partner, and we’re grateful to have received this honor,” remarked Paul Kopp, director, supplier marketing and product management for Sager Electronics. “Together, we provide our mutual customers a high level of service and innovative products, and we’re excited to continue building on our successful design-in efforts.”

Phoenix Contact has appointed Davis Mathews as chief executive officer of its U.S. operations, bringing seasoned leadership and a forward-looking vision to guide the company’s next phase of growth. Mathews will spearhead efforts to deepen the company’s footprint in the United States, while aligning advanced technical competencies with customer-centric solutions. Over his 30-year career at Phoenix Contact, Mathews has excelled at various levels of leadership, beginning in product marketing and most recently as an executive board member. He previously held the position of president of industry management and automation and was a senior vice president of development. Outside of Phoenix Contact, Mathews serves on the board of directors for ODVA, an international standards development and trade organization with members from the world’s leading automation suppliers.

TTI Inc. announced the return of Michael Knight as corporate senior vice president, strategy. Knight will report directly to TTI Inc. CEO Mike Morton. Knight rejoins the company after previously serving for 18 years in various leadership roles, having played a pivotal role in TTI’s significant expansion and growth. His strategic insight and leadership were instrumental in shaping the company’s trajectory during a transformative era. Most recently Knight served as president and CEO of Endries International where he led the company through a period of transformation and growth. Knight’s return is indicative of the commitment to strategic innovation and long-term planning at TTI. His leadership will focus on identifying emerging opportunities, strengthening global partnerships, and driving initiatives that align with the company’s mission and values.

Amphenol announced that it will buy CommScope’s connectivity and cable solutions business for $10.5 billion. The all-cash transaction is aimed at diversifying Amphenol’s industrial interconnect products, particularly in the building infrastructure connectivity market. The acquisition will help Amphenol capitalize on surging broadband and 5G demand, while positioning the company at the forefront of the rapidly evolving connectivity landscape. This is Amphenol’s largest acquisition to date.

Sager Electronics together with Advanced Energy announced the addition of HiTek, Trek, and Monroe brands to the Sager portfolio: HiTek provides high voltage and custom-built power supplies; Trek specializes in high voltage amplifiers and electrostatic measurement solutions; Monroe delivers electrostatic measurement solutions used in electronics, R&D, and static control. “The addition of HiTek, Trek, and Monroe brands to the Sager line card enhances our ability to meet specialized customer needs with unique, application-driven solutions that extend beyond traditional power conversion — delivering greater precision, safety, and control in demanding environments,” commented Joe Norton, supplier marketing and product manager for Sager Electronics.

Taoglas announced a strategic partnership with Semtech Corporation to offer a portfolio of high-performance antennas verified for use with Semtech’s AirLink routers. Verified Taoglas antennas, tested for RF connector, electrical, mechanical, and environmental compatibility with AirLink routers, offer a proven foundation for projects in sectors such as public safety, utilities, transportation, and industrial IoT, where robust connectivity is essential. The selected antennas have been matched to AirLink models that support multi-band 4G and 5G, Wi‑Fi, and GNSS. A variety of mounting options are available, including terminal/connector, adhesive, magnetic, and through-hole mount. They feature SMA connectors, low-profile enclosures, and rugged mounting options which are suited to mobile and outdoor deployments such as connected transport and emergency response systems. Multi-port configurations combine cellular MIMO, Wi‑Fi, and GNSS in a single housing, with designs tested to withstand vibration, weather exposure, and tampering. All models support IP-rated installation and operate across extended temperature ranges from -40 °C to +85 °C.

Waldom Electronics, a global leader in sustainable distribution solutions, has released a new video highlighting the impressive progress of its industry-leading tree-planting initiative in 2025. The video showcases real-world results across key environmental and social impact areas, reinforcing Waldom’s position at the forefront of environmental stewardship in the electronic components industry. Waldom’s efforts in partnership with veritree have already yielded transformational results: the equivalent of 2,625 tennis courts worth of trees planted; 1,116 workdays created for local communities; 27,861 vehicles’ worth of carbon offset for an entire year: 706% increase in access to nutrition for local populations. These achievements are part of Waldom’s broader commitment to sustainability and its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2025 program has expanded to new sites including Kwale and Mombasa (Kenya), Tanga (Tanzania), Kedougou (Senegal), and Maranhão (Brazil).
