This week’s Product Roundup highlights ATEX-approved interconnects from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.

ATEX-approved Interconnects

The new Broadcom ACNV260E, available from AvnetThe new Broadcom ACNV260E, available from Avnet, is an optically coupled gate that combines an AlGaAs light emitting diode and an integrated photo detector in a widebody package. ACNV260E is designed and manufactured to comply with EN60079-11 ATEX and IECEx. The distance through insulation (DTI) between the emitting diode and photodetector is 2 mm. The output of the detector IC is an open collector Schottky clamped transistor.

The Amphenol explosion-proof connector series Amphe-EX, supplied by PEI-GenesisThe Amphenol explosion-proof connector series Amphe-EX, supplied by PEI-Genesis, is ATEX and IECex-approved for Zone 1-rated (Europe) (IECex 60079). Amphenol Amphe-EX are the only EX explosion-proof hazardous area threaded connectors that allow a signal to pass through Zone-rated areas using copper, coax and fiber optic contacts in one product. These circular connectors can handle signal, power, or RF requirements in industrial and harsh environments.

The SPT 2,5/ 2-V-5,0-EX PCB terminal block from Phoenix ContactThe SPT 2,5/ 2-V-5,0-EX PCB terminal block from Phoenix Contact is ATEX-approved and satisfies the more stringent safety requirements of “Ex e” protection according to IEC 60079-7 for potentially explosive areas. SPT features time-saving push-in connection with no tools required. Its defined contact force ensures that contact remains stable over the long term. The clamping space opened by means of a fixed screwdriver enables convenient conductor connection. Operation and conductor connection from one direction enables integration into the front of the device. Two solder pins reduce the mechanical strain on the soldering spots.

WAGO’s wide selection of ATEX-approved PCB terminal blocksWAGO’s wide selection of ATEX-approved PCB terminal blocks come with different conductor entry directions and actuation types, as well as custom color combinations for clear connection assignment. WAGO offers a comprehensive range of PCB terminal blocks for conductors ranging from 28–6 AWG to connect PCBs to your device application. They provide simple, secure connections of solid conductors with Push-in CAGE CLAMP technology.
