Power connectors
PROtop from Weidmuller USA is the ideal power boost for production environments. With efficiency levels peaking at 95.3%, PROtop ensures sustainable energy savings and reliable system availability, supported by exceedingly high MTBF values. PROtop combines exceptional efficiency and compact housings with high durability and direct parallel connection without diode modules – reducing costs and creating cabinet space. Due to PROtop’s robust DCL technology, even difficult loads – motors, for instance – are operated smoothly. The added communication interface allows users to control, monitor, and integrate devices easily into the IIoT ecosystem.
HBB Series high-power, quick-release harsh-environment connectors from Smiths Interconnect are available in both single and five pole versions. The series has a compact robust RoHS design in a metal shell with polarization, user-friendly push-lock mating and quick-release unmating mechanisms, sealed IPx7 and IP6K9K when mated, high-reliability Hypertac hyperboloid contacts rated for up to 500A, and 360º shielding.
The DW Series from JAE is a lineup consisting of high-power and signal hybrid docking connectors, ranging from 500-150 Amp capabilities, and a high-power cable connector, capable of 100 Amp. Specific to energy storage applications, the large floating tolerance docking DW1, DW2, and DW3 connectors will allow users the ability to blind-mate the connectors, which were designed to be mounted to the deep-end of a rack to receive the mating half-mounted to a battery module. These hybrid connectors, while supplying high power through two-positions, come equipped with 20-24 terminals for data transmission. The DW4 cable solution was designed to daisy chain batteries within the module.
DURASWAP from Amphenol Communications Solutions are swappable custom battery connector solutions offered in 2 power & 6 signal configurations. These connectors can carry a continuous current of 15A-70A with 10,000 mating cycles. They are IP67 rated in mated and unmated conditions. The contact system can carry up to 70A continuous current and withstand 10,000 mating cycles. The connector supports blind mating with a float of ±1mm. FMLB for power terminals prevents hot plugging. PokaYoke avoids mismating with FMLB for power terminals.
PEI-Genesis supplies Amphenol UPC (Ultimate Power Connectors) designed for hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) applications. UPC connectors have a lightweight and space-saving compact plastic shell. The 2-pole and 3-pole versions use RADSOK technology to achieve high amperage, less resistance, and lower voltage drop and T-rise. These durable UPC connectors are rated to 100 mating cycles, minimum, and are field-installable and repairable.
With the rising popularity of electric transportation both on land and in water, electric bikes, scooters, and speedboats have become a new trend in modern transportation. The TW4703 series from Tarng Yu Enterprise is a waterproof power connector with a maximum rated current of 50A and rated voltage of 100 DC. This connector is used for battery connections in the system or a charging cable for the vehicle.
