This week’s Product Roundup highlights databus and video interconnects from leading connector manufacturers and suppliers.
Databus and Video
The Amphenol USB LTW connector from PEI-Genesis is rated to IP68 for water resistance. This Amphenol USB connector series comes in USB Type A/B, which covers USB Type A 3.0, USB Type A 2.0, and USB Type B 2.0, and is available in receptacle, receptacle with cable, overmolded with cable, and field installable variations. This waterproof Amphenol USB connector is perfect for industrial automation, data centers, portable devices, data acquisition, auto diagnostics, marine electronics and outdoor LED displays.
Adam Tech’s Ultra High Speed HDMI 2.1 connectors and cables provide uncompressed 8K video with HDR, and support bandwidth speeds up to 48 Gb/s. They also support 4K video, eARC (enhanced audio return channel), VRR (variable refresh rate), ALLM (auto low latency mode), QFT (quick frame transport), and QMS (quick media switching). The cables are available in 3, 6, 10, and 16.5 foot lengths. They are designed for audio/video data transfer, televisions, gaming consoles, DVD/Blu-ray/Ultra HD players, media streaming devices, cable boxes, computers, and entertainment systems.
Amphenol Pcd’s MDPTFV (Mini DisplayPort) series runs on DisplayPort 1.4 protocol (the fastest speed available) and supports 8K UHD and 4K UHD in a rugged, size 13 38999 shell. MDPFTV connectors can support 8K UHD (7680 × 4320) at 60 Hz or 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) at 120 Hz. They feature a Tri-Start Threaded coupling mechanism (MIL-DTL-38999 series III type) with anti-decoupling device and use DisplayPort 1.4 protocol. The transmission bandwidth is 32.4 Gb/s with 8.1 Gb/s per lane.
Axon’ Cable’s databus products include 22, 24, and 26 AWG screened twisted-pair cables designed to meet 77Ω nominal impedance. They can be connected to in-line couplers, in-line-couplers to be cabled (ACC), rack couplers, relay couplers for automatic disconnection, removable box couplers, databus connectors, and triaxial contacts and accessories (databus terminators, stub loads, braids, connector backshells, and splices).
3M Twin Axial PCI Extender Assemblies Gen 4.0 8Kxx Series from Avnet allows for extremely versatile routing and configuration while maintaining signal strength, especially in system designs with challenging board patterns. Ideal for PCIe (85 ohm) 4.0 applications, 3M extenders feature flexible, foldable thin twin axial ribbon cables that allow for more cable without added space. This increases design capability, allows for highly efficient cable management, and helps maximize airflow for better thermal control in high-performance architectures. Extender assemblies are available in x8, x16, straddle mount and surface mount (SMT) versions. The series meets the PCIe Gen 4.0 specification and may meet Gen 5.0 under certain conditions.
