Registration is now open for the 73rd annual IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry ForumRegistration is now open for the 73rd annual IWCS Cable & Connectivity Industry Forum, the premier technology event for the exchange of information about product, material, and process innovation for cabling and connectivity solutions. Taking place Monday, October 14 through Thursday, October 17, at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence, this event features the traditional elements of the IWCS Forum plus additional new components that highlight trending developments in sustainability, energy transition, and broadband infrastructure. Among the highlights, Day 1 concludes with an unforgettable Edgar Allan “PoE” inspired reception, concluding the Power Over Ethernet (PoE) topic presented during earlier in the day. The Executive Session addresses important issues facing the industry on Day 2. New this year, on Day 3 IWCS will host the first supplementary breakout program, “Navigating the Energy Transition Smart Grid and Broadband Connectivity,” that fosters discussion on broad trends critical to global connectivity.

Avnet launched Tria, a new product brand, and corresponding business called Tria TechnologiesAvnet launched Tria, a new product brand, and corresponding business called Tria Technologies. The Tria brand will be the new name for embedded compute boards, systems, and associated design and manufacturing services at Avnet. The Tria Technologies team will design and manufacture standard embedded compute products as well as custom designs. Tria products and services get customers from design to mass production in much shorter time, with improved products and reduced risk to their business model. The Tria brand represents design and manufacturing capabilities and teams all over the world, including the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Tria’s compute modules have won accolades and recognition across the industry, collaborating closely with partners including Qualcomm Technologies Inc. The business will remain a wholly owned subsidiary of Avnet, connected to Avnet’s global distribution network and collaborating with Avnet’s other solutions businesses.

Amphenol Corporation announced a definitive agreement to acquire CommScope’s mobile networks businesses.Amphenol Corporation announced a definitive agreement to acquire CommScope’s mobile networks businesses. The deal includes the purchase of CommScope’s Outdoor Wireless Networks (OWN) segment as well as the Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) business which resides in CommScope’s Networking, Intelligent Cellular, and Security Solutions (NICS) segment. Amphenol President and Chief Executive Officer R. Adam Norwitt said, “CommScope provides mobile networks solutions, with advanced technologies in the areas of base station antennas and related interconnect solutions, as well as distributed antenna systems. In particular, we are encouraged that the businesses we are acquiring make up the former Andrew Corporation portfolio of products, a company with a rich history of innovation and technology leadership in the wireless industry.
