The SBSX-75A sealed connector from Anderson Power is available in multiple configurations, delivering up to 140A of power and providing durability for 5,000 mating cycles. Engineered for harsh environments, the connector’s IP68 weatherproof rating provides exceptional protection from dust, moisture, and debris. Additional accessories to save space and add engineering design flexibility include an IP68-rated flip-top cover for outdoor use, an integrated ground housing option, an ergonomic cable strain-relief option, and support for up to six auxiliary signals to provide advanced battery monitoring capabilities.

As electromagnetic interference (EMI) requirements are increasing in spacecraft computer networks, Axon’ has developed an EMI clip to protect the interface of the connector. Integrated into the contact zone, the clip gives a great continuity between the male and female connectors by creating a 360° metal contact. Axon’ EMI clip is installed on only one side of a couple. The clip is available for male and female Micro-D connectors. The Micro-D connector equipped with the Axon’ EMI clip remains compatible with any standard Micro-D connector. For a fast integration, the D-Click fast-latching system can equip Axon’ EMI optimized micro-D connectors.

To protect the link against electromagnetic interferences, Axon’ offers rectangular backshells for Micro-D and D-Sub connectors. Directly put behind the connector, they also provide effective mechanical protection to the overall cable assembly. Axon’ rectangular backshells are compliant with MIL-DTL-83513 for Micro-D and MIL-DTL-24308 for D-Sub. To fit perfectly with the customers’ application, custom-designed backshell solutions are available: monobloc to panel-mount version, and a large choice of funnels, surface treatments, and materials. At the rear of the connectors, the clamping termination band Axoclamp allows for 360° shield termination.

The newest EVO multi-inlet adapters from Phoenix Contact provide a simple method for sealing around multiple cables as they pass into the HEAVYCON EVO rectangular connector housings. Traditionally, a cable gland would be used to seal a single cable. These multi-inlet adapters make it possible to capture and seal a variety of cables simultaneously. They make an excellent addition to any heavy-duty rectangular connectors using an array of mixed modular inserts.

ept offers hm2.0 shrouds for types A, AB19, AB22, AB25, B19, B22, B25, and C. They have been tested according to the global standard of IEC 61076-4-101 and can tolerate temperatures from 55 °C to +125 °C. ept’s DIN41612 C/R shrouds include variations that are self-retaining, VME, and with or without nut or flange. DIN 41612 and hm2.0 connectors have fine, closely spaced pins that can easily bend if not protected. A shroud primarily provides mechanical protection, alignment, and compliance with industry standards. It acts as a barrier, preventing damage to the pins to ensure successful contacting. In rugged industrial and telecom environments where shock and vibration may potentially interrupt signals, shrouds also help absorb mechanical stress. Use of a shroud can offer strain relief by distributing the mechanical load during the process of mating and unmating. A shroud assists with alignment by ensuring that the plug aligns correctly with the receptacle before pins make contact. This reduces wear to the components as well as preventing misalignment and improperly mated connections.
