Micro-strip connectors are extremely small, low-profile board-to-wire, I/O, and wire-to-wire interconnects that offer a high-reliability solution for designers of critical applications where size and weight must be kept to an absolute minimum. They are a powerful and flexible design option for high-reliability and critical applications. Micro-strip connectors are available with a variety of latching options, termination styles, and configurations, including MIL-spec and COTS options. They are used in a variety of markets, including medical, avionics, space, military, and Test & Measurement applications.

Omnetics offers a COTS Micro-Strip in a single row, pre-wired configurations with 18″ leads.

Design Notes 

Standards: Micro-strip connectors are available in configurations that meet specific standards such as MIL-DTL-83513.

Contacts:

Pins – Up to 43 contacts

Spacing – Single or double row

Pitch – .050”

Termination – Solder-cup, pre-wired, PCB, surface mount, and back-to-back

Material specifications: Plastic or metal shells, one guidepost

Physical properties:  A variety of locking options are available, including screw-type and latching

Wire Type: AWG, Stranded

Environmental properties:

IP rating/Sealing – Typically used inside ruggedized equipment where ingress is not a factor

Ruggedization – Features such as high-force twist pins provide high ruggedization

Temperature range – -55 °C to 150 °C

Electrical properties:

Voltage AC/DC – 600 Vac

Current – 3 Amps
