Audio/Video Connectors for Consumer Applications
The Neutrik SpeakON line of lockable loudspeaker/amplifier connectors, supplied by Allied Electronics & Automation, now features the standard SpeakON, SpeakON SPX, and SpeakON STX series. The SPX series features 4-pole cable ends that are cost-effective and available straight or in right-angle configurations. The STX series is metal for added durability and features gaskets for help to seal out moisture. The STX series is available in both male and female cable ends and receptacles.
The BNC connector from Cinch Connectivity Solutions is a miniature quick connect/disconnect radio frequency connector used for coaxial cable. It features two bayonet lugs on the female connector; mating is fully achieved with a quarter turn of the coupling nut. BNC connectors are used with miniature-to-subminiature coaxial cable in radio, television, and other radio-frequency electronic equipment, test instruments, and video signals. The BNC features 3-piece construction, captive center contact pin in cone assembly, spring-loaded coupling ring using a beryllium-copper crescent washer, and freely rotating captured insert and stepped captured insert inside the clamp-nut assembly.
Weidmüller’s PUSH IN wire connection for the LUF Power Terminal was developed for Dolby Cinema Technology. Lumberg’s 3.5 mm jack chassis socket according to JEITA RC-5325A features 4 poles/stereo, with two break contacts in an angular version designed for printed circuit boards. It is suitable for surface mount technology (SMT), mid-mount placement, and is available in three sizes, mono and stereo, with a wide range of cable and chassis parts. For signal currents up to 2 A.
JAE’s FI-R connector series has the durability, ease of mating, and variety of options to meet the demands of high-speed serial transmission such as LVDS, TMDS (HDMI), and PCI Express that are widely used in TVs, personal computers, and medical devices. FI-R connectors feature 0.5 mm terminal pitch, 3.8 mm connector height, and have a compact design with 21, 31, 41, and 51 positions. They offer stable mating with large mating guides on the plug, have strong PCB retention with solder hold-downs on the receptacle, and impedance matching of 100 ohms. Neutrik’s 32 A powerCON from Powell Electronics is a robust and reliable locking single phase AC appliance cable connector for high current capacity (32 A rated). It is conceived as a non-standardized 3-pole connection system without breaking capacity to serve the needs of high-power distribution systems and supplies for professional audio and lighting equipment and installations. The connectors are comprised of contacts for phase, neutral, and protective earth (ground) conductors rated for currents up to 32 A and for voltages up to 250V.

COAX Connectors’ 75 ohm F Type ‘Tool-Less’ Spring Lock Cable Plug is ideally suited for use by consumers in audio/video applications. Its spring-lock design allows for quick and easy termination without the need for special tooling. These connectors feature a screw coupling and a gold-plated center contact. With the cable stripped and the braid pulled back, the three parts of this connector simply click into place, forming a strong, stable, and neat connection between the cable and connector.
