1394 Trade Association

The 1394 Trade association (1394 TA) actively promotes the proliferation of the IEEE-1394 serial bus standard that is also known as Firewire™, ilink™ and Mil1394. This member-driven association promotes the development and use of IEEE-1394 through specification development, marketing and the 1394 TA compliance program.

The 1394 TA is active both in specification development within the 1394 Trade Association and in cooperation with other industry groups and organizations such as IEC (IEC 13818), JIIA (IIDC2), SAE (AS5643), ANSI (sbp-2) and IEEE (IP-1394) plus many more. This activity has enabled the application of 1394 technology in millions of products including computers, computer peripherals, pro-audio systems, industrial imaging equipment, and in aerospace, defense, consumer electronics and control systems.
