Putting it all Together
Designing ruggedized mil/aero connectors is not trivial. Today’s requirements for SWaP are testing the limits of nearly all connector manufacturers, and high-speed signals further magnify the challenges. However, it is possible to nd a solution that meets all the mechanical requirements while also ensuring that the connector can successfully pass signals well into the gigabit range. By adhering to the recommendations provided here, which are based on challenges that have been successfully overcome in mil/aero connectors currently operating in the eld at speeds up to 5Gbps, system designers will be well equipped to face the challenges of high-speed mil/aero connector applications.
